Hi,

Hey, I need new shocks.  I'm going to have to go air shocks in the back, because I just round a minor rub issue on my wheels.  Found these on Amazon, and the price looks great:

http://www.amazon.com/Monroe-MA757-Max-Air-Adjustable-Shocks/dp/B000C53X8Y/ref=au_pf_ss_2?ie=UTF8&n=15684181&s=automotive&carId=001

Anyone have an opinion on them?
Also, my front shocks are wore out... any opinion on what I should go with there?

Thanks!

Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

If your car is a 73 or later ( as you avatar states ) just couple of notes:

Eddy shocks doesn't fit in front to 73 and laters, just on rear. Same about another brands like Comp engineering. I still haven't found Monotube HiPo setup for 73 and laters.

as far has been told, KYB GR-2 Gas shocks are the best performance options we have at leats for 73 and later.

dunno if those Monroes are available on front to 73 and laters.
Venezuelan RT 74 400 4bbl, 727, 8.75 3.23 open. Now stroked with 440 crank and 3.55 SG. Here is the History and how is actually: http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,7603.0/all.html

Hey everyone, thanks for the advice.  I ended up ordering the air shocks off amazon.  Great price - $25 less than any other place I could find - and the shipping was free.  For the front, I found some Monroe listed as compatible at rockauto, for a good price.  I'll give them a shot - hope they're good.

By the way, rockauto has great prices and a very cool catalog that makes finding parts for our exact models quite easy.  Here's a link:

I used standard reasonably priced Monroe shocks on the front of my 73 SE with Monroe Air shocks in the rear. I recently had a new dual exhaust installed at Monroe Muffler with flowtech headers and flowmaster 40's put on it. The problem is that these headers made the front end so low that the car bottomed out and the headers ended up cracking my heads! I now have white smoke coming out the back! I am going to fix the motor. I have some questions listed about the motor on this board in the proper section. I am looking for a HEAVIER shock for the front of my car....I would like shocks with springs if possible! The Monroe shocks worked FINE until I had the headers installed! I may need to get a new torsion bar for the car also....something to keep it from hitting bottom.

Damn, dude... that sucks!  Sorry to hear about it - hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction.  Way back in my High School days, I had a '72 charger with a 318.  I put generic 318 headers on it, and had problems.  The spark plug wires had no correct place to sit, and I burned a few up.  Then the headers, like yours, bottomed out a few times and ended up getting dented.  No engine damage, but I had to raise the front end, and the car looked odd.  I put air shocks on back to balance, but it was still not quite right.  :brickwall:

Eventually I threw in the towel, and put my stock manifold back on. :icon_smile_blackeye:  I swore that if I ever bought headers for a car again, I'd make sure they were designed not only for the exact engine, but for the exact car model too.  But I'm honestly not even sure if that would have avoided all the problems.  Not sure why I was even trying to soup up a 318 - other than it was just what I happened to have.  I miss that car!
