diff wall/lines colors on tires

whats the deal with white lines, red lines blue lines on tires ( or whatever color )? just look purpouse or does mean something about performance too ?

Tire makers way of trying to be cool and different from the mfg's and cash in on peoples quickly changing tastes.

I know Blue Streak tires were only available on Hemi B-Bodies in 1966.

You are correct and it was called a high performance tire and typically redlines were painted on high performance tires and whitewalls usually but not always were found on general use tires but I'd offer that the lines were less about designating a tire as performance or not than they were a case of trying to make an otherwise boring black tire look a little more exciting.  Does that make snse?
