The Volo Car "Museum" is basically a classic car dealership with literally hundreds of vehicles for sale in Volo, IL. It's about 15 minutes from Lake Vila, and we all know who lives there. Anyway, I go there from time to time to wander around and check out what they have in. The last time I was there was a year ago. Prices have dropped! The folks there said the turn over was good on Chevelles and Novas, but less fast on the Fords, and much slower on the MOPARS. Typical, I guess. Anyway, below are some pics. There had a handful of Mopars outs of the hundreds of cars. As I was getting ready to go they rolled in a 1970 Coronet R/T setup for drag racing, looked like a 10 second car to me. The '70 cornet styling is really starting to grow on me.

They had a "General Lee Enterprises" GL too. What a POS! They also have tons of obscure movie & TV cars, but I have to say the 3 they had from that stupid recent Death Race movie were pretty cool

I really like the way they set up that General Lee. It looks cool on the ramp with the fence piece infront of it. :yesnod: Same goes for me, that '70 Coronet body style is really growing on me :whistling:

WHICH CAR WAS THAT?..  :shruggy:

The last one, the hot rod. That coronet was being offered in the mid 20s.

There was 71 and a 72, easy to get confused by the order of the pics, similar color.

Ghoste

Was the GL a clone or an actual one?

It was from "General Lee Enterprises". I'm sure some other emembers could give you a good history of that, but I think they built replicas after the show for touring around to shows, etc. Sometimes they get pawned off as the real thing.

Here's a link to the details on that black Coronet R/T. What a deal! If I had 10k to spare I'd buy it right now.
