I like mine  :punkrocka:

Like it was mentioned, some cars and colors look good with them some don't.
Personally I think white, yellow, orange, sublime and red cars also look good with a vinyl top. Plum crazy, burnt orange, dark greens, blues and reds look good either way.

I thought they looked pretty good .......
Then I took mine off and found a mass of rust.

Now I've got a painted roof and no vinyl :)

Ya' know First Gen's were not really designed for a V. Top...

Ya know......2nd gens weren't originally designed with a vinyl top in mind either....it was an after thought. It just so happens 2nd gens look great with v-tops.
On the production line....it's quicker to install a vinyl top and cover up the crappy bodywork at the roof--to--1/4 panel joint than to finish it right and paint it. V-tops were a no-cost option because of it as well.
That's why alot of 'em rust along that seam, as it's just a quick skim of filler...
Mine was a V-top.....but it blew off. :o I like it now without it.....
I like 'em on or off equally, as long as there isn't a HOLE in the middle of the roof. :brickwall:

Ghoste

Where did you get the info that vinyl was a no cost option?
