well its been a while sorry about that for those who dont know me im simon 25 from the uk and i own the 72 petty roadrunner its a 416 4 speed man and i have just found out 706 of 706 [aparantly]

since i last signed on the little 340 has been stripped and rebuild using eagle stroker kit taking it to a 416 still running standard 650 holly and stock inlets but now running headers yay

when i first got the car it ran a 16.6, now have that down to a 14.1 @ 99, BUT that was with broken engine mount on drivers side and also slipping clutch which now both have been sorted,  really hoping to be deep in the 13s.

the next step is two weeks after christmas going to take the engine out again just for a top end build up and a nice new blue paint job [oh and the usual plugs leads oil etc] nitros and a rebuild of the trans

THEN next winter its the big job engine out one more time [which i love doing anyway] strip the paint get the body sorted do a mini tub nothing drastic i have a freind of mine customising an electrical system and also a custom exhaust then build him back up again [going back to petty]

anyway hope i havent bored you to much

any advice on doing the bodywork will be apretiated

My only advice is leave it alone.  That car is SWEEEEEEEET!

Welcome Back.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

unfortunatly the pictures do it to much justice the pass side front  wing doesnt fit properly and is rubbing the paint of the door and wing near the bootom it is rusty as is the engine bay there is a huge amount of filler bubbling up between the door and the rear wheels arch the boot doesnt fit properly paint has been chipped off the rear bumper i could go on lol

to be honest even if it wasent for all that and the rest i still would unfortunatly im a bit of a perfectionist

If you get the body and paint perfect, you may not feel as comfortable driving it, if you know what I mean.  By the way I really like your car, and the body color cop rims look sharp!   :2thumbs:

Hey, it looks good! and I bet it's fun to drive too!

75dartsport

oh trust me even with the bodywork and paint perfect im still going to hoon it like i do now, i dont mind the paintwork getting scratched etc but i hate poor bodywork, my ol dart that i had to get rid of early this year was obsolutly perfect but i ragged that about like you wouldent belive.

he does drive fantasticly picks up with no hesitation absolutly flat round the corners perfect

FlatbackFanatic

oh also i was asking on another board if i should put it back as a petty or put it back to whatever the origional colour was and found out that petty blue is the origional colour just thought people might be interested

Sublime/Sixpack

Yeah, I can appreciate what you're saying about poor body work, that bothers me too.  It just doesn't seem to be an issue in the photos you posted.
I still like the color, the graphics, the rims, etc.
