Can I ask what the The rad and fans cost you ?

Ron

Honestly, it's embarrassing to admit what I paid...it's one of the few times I just said "do it" and sat back and let others take care of it...the rad was 800 and my buddy owed me a favor and bought me the fans....It is a top quality rad and I'm sure it will cool way more than I need.  I paid 550 for a be cool direct fit @6 years ago and it cooled like shit.  it's tiny compared to this one. Back when I bought that one, there werent as many aluminum options as there are now.  I just needed the piece of mind this time.  I don't want to be driving home from the body shop and have it puke all over the road.

As far as the door skin...It arrived after I went there last week so I haven't seen it yet. I will be there on saturday so I will know if it was just the skin or the shell.  for 350 I find it hard to believe i got the whole deal.

Yeah, CBD just sells the skin but I think the AMD piece is the entire door shell that is why the cost is so much higher.

dkn1997

Yes, cbd is just the skin.  don't know what the amd one is. I'm assuming from the price difference that it's the whole shell.

we have paint!! had some issues with color matching.  hard to say what's what.  2 different colors in play.  original color that's on inside of tail panel, under old hood and inside doors vs. the red on there from the previous repaint that I had done.  He shot the engine bay in what was supposed to be a match to original...but it was to red, too bright.  I went down there friday and we talked about it.  he was much more displeased than me.  he really wanted it to match the factory color which is more of a burgundy or orangy type of red, not bright bright red. I sorta could care less, but still didn't want it to look that different than it did.  Last time I had the car painted, I brought it in and said "paint it" and he did.  anyway, we settled on a color and I had to leave for a trip..but he sent these to my phone later that day when it was done. I will get better ones this wee.

jeez that thing is THICK!  If you hadn't already measured it I'd say surely it wouldn't clear! :D

Forgot to mention that I took the rad down there last week and it fits like a glove.  I will have to grind just a bit of one of the fan cages...I'm talking maybe 1/4" os it clears the wp pulley.  I will take pics when she's all said and done

accident was an old man who basically hit me head on.

now i need a question answered...it's going to the upholstry shop for a week.  in the mean time, they discovered that the spindle took a whack and they think it's bent.  Mike nyc mille said he would grab a stock one from his daytona build(he upgraded to something new) ...that one came from a 69 SE with factory discs....is that the same spindle as the 73-76 dart spindle I have on there (I did the discotech swap from mopar action 10 years ago)  I'd hate to waste him time and neither of us is sure if it will be a match.  I have some time as the car is going to interior shop and glass shop this week now that it's painted.

Nice progress,
I'm not sure if you painted the radiator or not but my vote is not to paint it at all and show off that beautiful piece. :Twocents:

The 69 spindles are different from the 73-76 A body ones. I believe the difference lies in the bearing races and I don't think you can just swap bearings. Just going on memory here.

Its a grille mounting bracket....If you cant find one it would be easy to make.

Edit ...Just realized you may be talking about the lower shield..If so, AMD makes them. Used ones are very hard to find and they are commonly missing.

PS It will be ALOT easier to put the valance back together with those shields removed.

There is something to be said for a red/black charger. It just screams muscle. I miss my '68 red/black charger even more so now.
Glad to see your getting closer to being done.  :2thumbs:

Yes, you're talking about the lower front splash shield. I'm glad AMD has them.  I believe they are suppose to be semi gloss black originally.  The Charger is really looking good at this stage.    :2thumbs:
