Wayne Perkins 69 500 restoration begins

I really like white and red cars, and this is one of the only cars I like recall wheels on--congratulate him on a nice resurrection, but tell him I'm disappointed it's not painted like the Goldsmith car 

why did the quarter panel marker reflector bezels get painted stripe color?  in the "before" photos they're body color--was there red under the white under the red or something?

yes i'm the same !!  don't go much on the recall wheels !  but when fitted to a C500 look awesome !! really complements the car

 not sure    on the stripe color , I know he was pissed because it cost 90 bucks for a small pint of red just to paint them .   LOL

I really llike the white and red combo too.  I guess Wayne likes the white/red aero car theme, the picts of his Cyclone on your other thread look good too. Is he planning on adding the A-pillar trim, or does he like the look without it?

Wayne want to know if on a front disc brake car , are the rear drums painted red like on a 4 wheel drum car ?
  or what color should the rear drums be painted  ?  HELP PLEASE .

might be wrong on this but think , it depends when the SPD was as for red painted drums , seem to remember cars built in 69  could be thinking of something else though

Yes Stuart, even with front disc the rear brakes were painted red with a brush. However this is only if the car came with road wheels though. I don't recall which one's his white 500 came with.

2" stripe painted red, paint was coded #3404653 Enamel. according to papers anyways.

I tried to talk Wayne out of his Silver Daytona when he was here in Indy at the swap meet but that didn't get too warm of a response. I don't think he was interested in parting with it.

he has owned that car a long time ,its family    all though recently i did here his say he would do a major trade of cars ( not the hemi car ) to get a certain race car.

recalls , he got a different set of trim rings at the Indy swap meet that are correct and fit perfect .  , he is going to paint the rear drums red as danny advised .
