Methinks that somebody has an intricate filing system worked out for the topics covered on these forums!!!
(Way more work than I'd do BTW)

Lets all be ambiguous, huh?

Wasn't trying to be ambiguous, but just stating where the car wound up. Although I'm about 99% sure it has left the place that Doug works at, and has found a new home now.

Hey guess what, I think I found it tucked away in the woods.  :woohoo:

Yes I am the lucky owner of the car that Al did such a great job with. I have known about this C500 about 7 or so years going back to when it was still in California. I missed my first opportunity to get her back then so once I had found out that Al had it then we began to talk about the possibility of me buying the car. Long story short is that I finally have her and at the same time have developed a new friendship with Al along the way. He has been great, and has shared alot of info. and stories. He was able to put me in touch with the original owner in CA. who also deserves much credit for preserving the paperwork and keeping it with the car. As you may already have heard or seen this C500 is one of the most documentated Charger 500's as well as muscle cars in general. It has three nice build sheets, an Advanced Dealer Shipping Notice, original Window Sticker, Shipper from Hamtramck plant to Creative Industries, original Dealer Order Sheet and Invoice, original owners loan papers, registrations, repair or replacement part receipts, and even the original California black plate. Besides the beauty and the rarity of this C500 the paperwork was a real a motivator for me to have this car. I have been a big fan of the Charger 500 since I had my first encounter back in the mid 80's. I almost bought a 4-spd B5 blue one and have always kicked myself for it but now I feel much better about the whole thing.

....Or 68 Hemi Charger got the wing....

  Dave,   you always get the "68" and "Hemi" backwards... But, we know what you mean...... I only wish I owned Steve's Daytona.......  I too have the fortune of getting to know Steve over the past couple of years and more recently, Al during his restoration process... Nice to know I had a "little" to do with it....... It's an amazing  C500 to say the least..... I'm afraid if Steve's C500 and Dana ever get together, Dana's going to get an inferior complex...  :icon_smile_big:

Hiya Steve !!

Hiya back Troy, hope all is well with you guys out there in the big State of Texas. Thanks for the compliment on my ride,  but you know how much I like Dana so I don't think that is an issue. Knowing how good of a person you are as well as your knowledge and love for these great cars, I'm glad to know that you had a hand in helping Al with the restoration.

I think we have all said this before but is amazing how these awesome cars have helped us develop great friendships over the years. Here's to many more

At this time I would like to wish all a great and safe holiday season, take care and enjoy everyone.

P.S.Now for the big question, is it Spring yet? :drive:

69_500

Nope not spring yet, but who is waiting on spring? I'm counting down the days to Talladega next fall.

Way to go Steve
I'm glad to see that a real enthusiast bought the car.  Many years of enjoyment to you!

Thanks Dave, I sent you a PM earlier.

Thanks alot Chris, it's not a Hemi but we all no how powerful a 440 is and it's got the right stuff to boot. I would still love to have yours though. How's the 68 doing, any recent pics?

Danny, I here you on the T-Dega show. Is it October 2009 yet? Of course I am not in any hurry to give up the summer of 2009. Spoken like a true resident of the "Great White North", right. Let me know when you guys are coming up this way and maybe you can stop by.

Steve,
pm me and I'll send you some pics of the 68 hemi charger.  It is pretty cool! If it was an aero car I'd post them here but I don't want to ruffle any feathers!

69_500

I don't think too many feathers would be ruffled by seeing pictures of a 68 HEMI Charger. I mean Troy does it all the time.  ;)

Not sure how much help I actually was. By the time I started talking to you about the car, it was already looking darn good. And if you show up at Talladega next fall, I'll make sure to chit chat with ya.

are you keeping the woodgrain wheel on it?

Your Daytona might get farmed out to a body shop we're familiar with in WIS...  I really, really wanted a hand in that!
