In honor of all the Viper V10 swaps into Chargers lately I bring you a Viper V10 in a Mustang Cobra. Looks like it's going to be pretty cool.

Where are all the viper engines coming from mostly?   do that many vipers bight the dust and crash?  do they buy them new from the dealer?   :shruggy:

that project looks like a waste of a good viper engine,

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

The fabrication work is cool and it seems some of the forum locals aren't fond of a brand-x engine in their cars.  One guy asked him to put a Triton V-10 in instead.  At least we're not the only forum that tells people what they should do with their cars... hahaha

At one time it was estimated that nearly half of the Vipers built had been totaled. High performance car and low performance driver don't mix well.

Viper crate motors have been available for some time but the wrecking yard versions are a better buy.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thats a sweet build. And with twin turbos.. Thats gonna go like skunk.. :ricky:

He'll prob send it back the the wrecking yard where he found it  :smilielol:

With less than 2000 miles on them too was what my buddy who just bought one said.  He said it's like driving on ice when the roads are wet.  :shruggy:

That black paint job on the Viper V10 looks sharp!

That's my next car as long as the prices keep dropping as fast as they have been... I'd like a '96-97 blue/white GTS with under 20k miles for under $40k please!

I can't BELIEVE that he actually fitted that engine in a Ford engine bay!  :o

Now hold on just a damn minute, I'll be 65 in less than a week and just got back from a "spirited" drive in my Viper; in full control all of the time.

Don't lump all "old folks" (or any other group) together arbitrarily.  :RantExplode:

+1, The engine is worth 4 times what the bodies worth. + that body isn't as nice as the '05 to current, IMO.

I think everyone there knows that too. Here's some other reasons he says wants a Viper engine instead of a Ford Triton V10: "It (the Triton) is the same size dimensionally with 1.2 less cubes, it's an extremely ugly motor, has far less capability, and almost zero after market available."

And another guy makes a good point too: "Because popping the hood and seeing a couple of VIPER valve covers is just sooooo much more badass and awe inspiring!!!!!"

Yeah, he did kill it. Spun the bearings.  I think he said he was going to get another one.  I read that he was upkeeping a better journal than the above link.  I've been thinking about heading up to his shop, I'm less than 20 minutes from it to check it out.

b5blue

That would be cool! Bitch'in build....anyone ever do a V10 Dart?

Cooter

There's a guy on the Foward Look forums that did a V-10 '59 Plymouth, 2dr sedan..Sounds good.. To do all that work with a USED motor?? Nope, all that time and cubic $$$$$$, I would'a built me an engine...

Again, too rich for my blood....I'll stick with doing it the old fashioned way.....N20 on a Stroker Big Block wedge...Might not be as "cool", but gets the job done ALOT cheaper and I got PLENTY of $1000 Cores to choose from....He's lookin' at $5000-$9000 for another USED engine..My whole stroker costs that much BRAND NEW....

Crashed cars. Google used viper parts, look at the extensive listings of dealers, then look at their inventory. Most have 5-10 vipers at any given time they are parting.

Wet, heck, they are like that when they are dry. I got a Viper sideways with the 2/3 shift on a prepped drag strip. They put down that much torque.
