I visit another message board that is really just a bunch of old farmers/country folk that get together and discuss just about anything there is. Everything from restoring tractors to politics. It doesn't have a theme. Anyway, There is a single mother from the Tulsa Oklahoma area on that board, and she posted this message. I thought I'd pass it along since it seems so fitting for the current situation in the world today and the Christmas Season.

Got a story to tell: Stumbled upon a song that the kids really love - Royal Purple Peterbuilt performed by Leland Martin. Me being me, I looked on the internet and found a website for Leland Martin and found that he was going to perform in Tulsa a couple of weeks ago. Sent a message on the "contact me" link to Mr. Martin telling him how much the kids really like this song and that I was bringing them to his show, would he please perform this song and if he had time, sign his autograph for the kids. Ended up that he couldn't make Tulsa show due to unforeseen circumstance, but could he send some stuff to the kids to help with their disappointment? He sent a CD, a couple of t-shirts with the Pete on the back and a music video DVD. It was so exciting for the kids to get a package in the mail.

Here is the favor:

On the DVD, there is a song titled "Flags on the Christmas Tree". It is a song honoring our soldiers, past and present and I think this is an absolutely fantastic idea. I will be putting flags on our Christmas tree this year and in the years to come. Please, put a flag on your tree for our soldiers.....what an awesome thing to do, to remember all of the ones that have given their all for our freedom and country - God and our Soldiers. Thank you for the bottom of my heart.

Yall take care and have a good'un.
