i'm not really up on satellites much but i found a 68 satellite that was supposed to have been a factory four spped car 383? that is what the owner says and it does still have the pedals and hump there. also what would something like this be worth? has a four speed that goes with it but non original and non original motor. here is the VIN if anyone can decode it i would really appreciate it!   RP23H8G169374.   thanks guys!!   also the only piece that was replaced was the lower quarter section on the passenger side. rest is all original sheet metal...

A few years back I saw a bone stock 383 4 spd station wagon for sale at a gas station, it looked like a regular grocery getter till i walked up to it and read the for sale sign. that's why i allways check out old rides - there are plenty of suprises - not like cookie-cutter cars nowadays.

what do you guys think something like this is worth without its original drivetrain? car is all original sheetmetal excepts passenger lower quarter patch panel put in...i have a chance to get the car. just wondering what it might be worth?

383-4v?  Not a common engine on Satellites.  Even less common with a 4 speed.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

Your probably do not see any of the cars since they would have more value as a roadruner clone.

If your looking to sell, you may want to buy a air grabber hood and some stickers and market the car as a RR clone. However, I'm sure there is a satellite following somewhere that may place special value on this car.

thanks for all of your input guys. the guy wants $7,000 for the car or will take $4,000 plus the 72 satellite i am trying to sell here. do you think that's a good deal?

you mean this one?..

1972 satellite for sale now minus the drive train

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"i still have my 72 satellite for sale. i'm selliing it now minus the drive train. very good body! no rot thru in the trunk. very very nice floors! original quarter panels that need very minor work but absolutely nothing that would need putting new quarters on(if they made them). selling with original hood and road runner hood and extra trunk lid. $2,600 firm. good title. PM me with any questions and i can send pics of anything on it. thanks!"
+  "car is still for sale. i will sell for $2,400 firm with a set of ralley wheel and centers.."

What were the major features of the Sat?.. 318? 727? options...  :popcrn:
and as if to you selling for the '68, It's really up to you and your preference for year and body styles..
but several factors should be taken into concideration...
For example i like the looks of the '72 but feel the '68 is a far stouter auto around the doors and cowl, the '72 might ride somewhat better but a complete comparo including you various project plans would have to be compared... most folks would probably make a RR clone of the '68... I think..  :shruggy:

pictures would sure help...  :yesnod:

if you like four speeds, like i do, that would be a plus in that colum. think about what you would rather have long term. any prodject these days will cost you a bundle, but if its what you decide you want to end up with, go for it. if the body is what you say it is, and you already have yours for sale, then...
the price doesnt sound out of line to me. i had a 69 sat before i got my gtx. i really liked the sat. my 2 cents

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...
