I remember back in the 80's seeing a black 500 with Virginia plates that said "NO WING".   The car had a red tail stripe and hood pins.  Is this car still around?

Not sure will have to look.Mike Mc Guire has had alot of aero cars and lived in Alexandria VA

239419 was also a 500 with factory A/C. I believe it was in the old newsletters multiple times. If I'm not mistaken it was also in some of the DSAC newsletters. It might have been owned at one time by one of the first members of DSAC. I'm going totally from memory here, but that seems right. Hopefully Doug will see this thread.

I emailed Mike and got a reply .It was his car.But plates were a different owner after him

:scratchchin: Hmmm, I guess not.  I mostly just wondered where the car had gotten to today.  When I first posted the thread it was because I was going through some of my older photo albums and I came across some pics of it.  That particular 500 is the first one I had ever seen "in the sheet metal".  It was at a car show and when I first spotted it, I couldn't get anywhere near it, he always had it in motion.  I just wanted to drool over and take some pictures.  I finally gave up and didn't see the car anymore that day.  The next morning, very early, I went for a walk around the motel and as I was going around the grounds taking various pics of cars, the motel lawn sprinklers came on so I took off running for cover along the route chosen for me by the sprinklers.  This forced me to cross one of those property dividing berms that mtoels frequently use and as I crossed it into dry territory, there it was.
This was a big deal to a Canadian teenage boy who was as nuts about Mopars then as he is still.

moparchris

I believe the Black C500 is still existing in Virginia.  I met the owner many years ago 1989?  I cannot recall his name but he was fanatical about that car and in the early 90's started a restoration.  I have no idea if he ever finished it.  If you guys in that area go to the Mopar Nats or Carlyle(spelling?) the guy who ownes/owned the C500 also has/had a red 64 Dodge with vintage Hurst mag wheels.  If you see this car ask him about the 500.

69_500

There is a black 500 with a red tail stripe that is owned by a gentleman in the Virginia area. He bought the car from a gentleman here in Indiana back in the early 1980's. Car used to be owned by Ric Lafollete (sp?). I've talked to Ric about the car several times.

Ghoste, was the car your talking about an A/C car? Red tail stripe? Red interior? have hood pins on in back in the 1980's? If so it would be the car I'm thinking of.

Okay so I actually broke down and got off my lazy butt and actually did a look in the spreadsheet and it is the VIN that is listed earlier in the thread. But it has been owned by the same gentleman for about 20 years now, and he is doing a restoration on the car. His plans were to have it done by Carlisle last year but that didn't happen, so I'm hoping that he will have it done by Talladega next year. I usually give him a call about every 6-8 months so I might have to give him a shout and check in on the progress.

Ghoste

It was red stripe and hood pins but I thought it was also red interior.  I put that photo album away again, I'll have to go check.

The owner of the car has always wanted a X9 Daytona with red interior, and red tail stripe but could never find one. So he bought the 500 instead, and has had it now for over 20 years. Very nice guy too as well.

There is a daytona with that combo I know of .Bad news is guy never restored it .Or is selling it

It isn't exactly hiding, it just hasn't been to any shows. If you mean being at Carlisle as resurfacing then no it hasn't resurfaced yet Dave. But its not a lost/forgotten about car. It is known where it is currently.

242644 is a black 440 powered 500. I haven't ever seen the car, but the fender tag was for sale on ebay last year. I was bidding on the fender tag, but couldn't justify spending more than $550 on it. After that I was outbid.

HemiOrangeTA

I have 2 pictures of this car at a Mopar show at Fort Hunt Park, Alexandria, VA from the early '80s. It appears that the interior is black, but it is hard to tell.
