A Daytona General Lee! HAHA!

What a bunch of lamers. Created on a cocktail napkin at 1:30am     like they really did something here. It looks like the Standard Daytona they are selling with the General Lee sticker kit stuck on it and now suddenly its a rare 1 of 3 production bad boy.

You can build an exact replica of the General Lee with a '69 Charger and Warner Bros. won't mind...as long as you don't use it to bring in profits (like if you rented it out, or sold rides in it for personal profit).   THEN they take issue.

I think the same would apply to anyone using their product to build and sell cars.   In other words, these guys painting and selling these cars just to cash in on the Dukes franchise are ripe for a lawsuit.   And so is HLPAG, for that matter.   Warner Bros. theoretically could bring a lawsuit on anyone who paints their car like that, but since it's not usually being done to bring in a profit, they'd probably have to settle for whatever profits they make ($0.00).   But if these guys are painting the cars just to sell them and leach off of Warner Bros.' product, then Warner Bros. should see at least a percentage.   So there's the difference.

And that's also why many General Lee owners use their cars to raise money for charity.  It's all non-profit.
Matt. 14:8 (KJV) "And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, 'give me here John Baptist's head in a Charger.'"

i probably shouldn't touch this one, but,i can't resist, and this why we all are entitled to our own opinions.
i will say, from dale the bold's comment, the charity raising with these cars is awesome, and very comendable...........but,i agree with todd's comment, but on a different note.
i would MUCH rather see someone take a new charger, and doll it up clown-car style, with the stickers, and a pushbar, and the flag, than see someone else take a beautiful, classic charger, slather it in orange paint and stickers, and re-live their favorite childhood TV show in their own mind. please, for god's sake, just go hang out with the starsky and hutch faithful, and leave the good cars alone, these damn things are multiplying!!!!!
how'd i do that!?!?!?

i agree with CHARGEN69,i remember at one time all the people complaining about how warner bros. destroyed over 500 chargers making the TV show. hell, that number should be out the stratoshere if you include all the chargers that have been wasted SINCE then!!!!!!!  i mean really people, talk about BEATING A DEAD HORSE!!!! there cannot be that many more morons out there wanting to take a nice charger, change it's color to orange and sticker the damn thing up like this!!!!! i would like to know what goes through a persons mind. "oh goodie,oh goodie, look honey i found a correct looking pushbar on ebay,oh my god,my life is complete!!!" "and a set of vectors,AAAAAHHHHH!!! i must be in heaven" "and someone is selling NEW decals!!!!!,check my pulse,i must be in heaven!!!!" i can die happy!!!!   this is perfect honey, let's go get in our black chevy van with the red stripe(A-team) and go get a burger, maybe we will get to see one of those really awesome red torino's with the white stripe while we are out!!!!  then,go back home, and relish our classic TV life!!! ........ :image_294343: :image_294343: :image_294343: :image_294343: :image_294343: :image_294343: :iamwithstupid: :iamwithstupid: :iamwithstupid: :iamwithstupid: :mrt: :mrt: :mrt: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse: :horse:

All I’m saying is I like them when they are done correctly. But I’m not about to insult people that decide to clone their cars. It's up to them what they want to do. Why not bash the Dayclona's? Pick an unfactory color. My charger has a 360 in it. So you might as well insult me as well.

Because someone does something they want to do with there car doesn't give me a right to insult them. It's their hard earned money.

I don't care if it's the General Lee, Kitt, Batmobile, A Team van, or The Mystery machine. If it's done right. I like it.

*EDIT* I do pick on ricers though, so i'm not perfect

haha see,we all get to poke fun at something.
i don't want to insult anyone, remember,on the bright side, even the general lee's are a way of saving old chargers, rather than crushing them. i just think it's WAY OVER DONE. there is no originallity left, period. how many of them can there be?
how'd i do that!?!?!?

You haven't lived untill the band POD pays you to turn there General Lee back into dark dark purple/violet w/ POD stuff all over it. This car had so many layers of paint on it, they had to have the 440 block painted dark bloody red. Whatever. The General Lee tan interior was PERFECT, then a roady rattle canned the whole interior Black, gauges and all. GAUGES and all.   :image_294343:

It's actually about 1/20th of that.   The Dukes of Hazzard and its fans are responsible for building General Lees out of   .1% of the 68-70 Chargers built (Which includes the 300 or so destroyed on the show, and the ones that survived the show).     I'm sure many more have been lost to drunk drivers, but you never hear car guys telling each other NOT to drink.
