And I complain about not being able to afford one now. An extra 27% is brutal, plus shipping.  :eek2:

The car on his laptop that it looked like he was buying?  That's what I was thinking.  Someone here won it when it was on ebay and went to pick it up and it was full of rust on the bottom of the car IIRC so he didn't buy it.  Looks like the Torq's were taken off too.  The car was a southern Ca. car though and the guy in the video says he bought it from San Diego.  :shruggy:

Was it the dude with the orange '68 4 gear?  Dan's his name I think.

Wow. That was the San Diego car that I bought on eBAy and then refused to buy after I saw it in person (http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,35861.0.html). It was a mess. I hope the new owner/cartaker (sic) only spent a few thousand on it, as he stated in the video. I need to drop the old owner a note and see what happened.  :coolgleamA:

Belgium today: (Port of Antwerp) 10% customs duty + 21 % import tax (on car value plus ocean freight)
Or you ship it to the other port in Belgium (Zee-Brugge) and you just pay the 6% tax. Yep, this is Belgium. You choose how much tax you want to pay :shruggy: :brickwall: :scratchchin:

Norway: 25% import tax on car, parts, .........everything!!!!  :shruggy:
Remember, this is on a vintage car (30 years old or more) !!
If i bought a new  40K crew cab dually, it would cost me in the ballpark of 180K by the time i had it on the road!!!
Welcome to european tax system!! :brickwall:
Since we only live once, and all this is not just a dressed rehearsal, but the real thing............ Well, enjoy it!!!!

It is the same one. After an 8-hour drive I would remember... :brickwall:  A '68 383 4-bbl 4-speed out of San Diego, rusty (and I'm being nice) with a unique two-tone hood and gap toothed grill.... The shifter handle and wheels/tires were changed. Will be a nice car after a few $10,000 bills towards restoration.  :eyes:

Considering my memory is shot, remembering what you went thru and your name is an accomplishment.  ;)
I usually make it a point to try to remember the cool "dudes".
