I watched this show for years and remember the cars on Ca streets.I sent in to my wing newsletter same inquiry way back. Did anyone rememember seeing a wingcar on the series Adam 12 .I saw a post on moparts saying they have the series online .And they saw a Challenger RT conv. And thought they saw a 69 500 .But looks like a 68 RT with headlights up .I recalled Dick Clark was in it and the guy with the daytona was Fat Charlie.Like they did a spoof on BiG Willie. And web searched my details .And nailed it to one particular episode that aired in 1972 entitled WHO WON
That was about getting racing off the streets and onto the track. There was a daytona I recall in primer and other mopars

Adam-12: Who Won?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Summary:This week, Officers Jim Reed (Kent McCord) and Pete Malloy (Martin Milner) try to stem an epidemic of reckless drag-racing in the streets of LA. Their hotheaded colleague Ed Wells (Gary Crosby) is all for locking up the culprits and throwing away... This week, Officers Jim Reed (Kent McCord) and Pete Malloy (Martin Milner) try to stem an epidemic of reckless drag-racing in the streets of LA. Their hotheaded colleague Ed Wells (Gary Crosby) is all for locking up the culprits and throwing away the key, but Jim and Pete are of the opinion that the drivers' energy can be rerouted to the safer confines of a local race track. The multifaceted Dick Clark appears as a compassionate racing promoter in this episode, another of several Jack Webb productions produced with the endorsement of the National Hot Rod Association. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide hide

I've seen it but I can't recall a Daytona in it.  I trust your memory over mine for sure.  A buddy of mine has it recorded so if you can't trun up a good copy anyplace else, I can make a copy from my buddy and fire it off to you.

Okay, I called my buddy tonight and he still has a copy but he ahs to locate it for me.  He says he doesn't remember a Daytona in it but it sounds like we are talking about the same episode.  He remembered because he had it on a separate tape (yes, VHS) with an episode of the Munsters drag racing on it as well.
Anyway, I should hopefully have his copy in hand no later than Thursday.

Okay, I have the tape but I haven't watched it yet.  After I told my buddy what I wanted it for, he watched and said that there is a Daytona in there twice, once about halfway through and again at the end.  He says it's red with a blacked out nosecone.  He tried to slow it down to watch it more closely but the tape got too jittery.  I'm going to burn it to dvd and then see if I can't get some shots up here.

nascarxx29

Thanks it confirmed the car and the episode .The car had some primer .I didnt recall the red.The driver was Fat Charlie. But 1972 was sometime ago
