rear view mirror too loose...

Here's an odd problem.  My 73se rear view mirror moves way too easy.  If I hit a bump, it moves.  If I drive around with normal "old car" vibrations, it moves.  Is there any kind off "anti-lubricant" that I can apply?  I'm thinking about even taking a fine grit sandpaper to the ball... but too much of that, and I could ruin it.

Thanks!

Is there not a provision for an Allen screw in the back that you can tighten?

Hi,

Hey, I wasn't clear enough... it's the top ball joint that's super loose, rather than the bottom.  HOWEVER... you have indirectly solved my problem.  I went out to look more closely, and decided to pull the mirror.  Inside the top, I found three hidden screws, and one of them was too loose.  I was able to simply tweak that, and get the proper tightness.

Thanks!
