Hello all,
88 new items have been added to the "found" section of www.hamtramck-historical.com in the last two days, there are now 1563 items waiting to be claimed. The new items include stuff for A, B, C and E bodies from /6 to Hemi cars so please check the VIN lists again if you have not done so in a while.

There are now items listed from 68 different assembly plant / model year combinations.

All items listed are free to the cars owners with proof of ownership as always.

Thanks again to everyone for sending in items and their help, this is a very large team effort.

Best of luck!

Did you look in the part for 68s? :P There's a list at the top which changes the results based on the year/plant. Scroll around until you see the 4 listings for 68.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

That VIN is screwed up, Silver. The fifth figure should be a letter, probably an L, and the sixth should be an 8 for '68. The 7th figure tells you the assembly plant location. Mine is 'B' for Dodge Main, Hamtramck, MI, USA. Yours should read something like: XS29L8B

I guess it means you've got a goofed up VIN tag. It's probably XS29(L)8, and then 3 is for Jefferson Avenue, MI, USA. So you're missing the L? 'L' is for 440 4bbl. A 'J' there is what you want. :icon_smile_big: Maybe you've got a Hemi car. :o

You're reading the fender tag and not the VIN. Try reading the one in the windshield.

:iagree:  You can't read the '68 fender tag and get the VIN# like later years.
