As much as I like the breakdown and info it provides, the Marti Report that all the Ford guys get is really bad for that.  Every single car can be broken down into a "one of one" if you go far enough.

Yeah it really does become a game of "what is it you really want"
Hotrodding was born out of answering this question.  Now, for the
bone stock crowd it is once again a point of interest!  Let it be.

I like bone stock too and breakdowns but when it comes down to establishing each option on the car and the region it was delivered and what time of day it was sold to establish it's "special oneness" in the world I quickly reach oversaturation.

I think I have a real rare U code Charger here guys. Built Sept 9th 1971, HB1 Light Blue, B5 Bright Blue Interior, Black Canopy top, Bucket Seats, Auto on Column (no console), Power Windows, NO A/C, AM-FM, Machine Gun tips, Rallye Wheels, Hood Pins. Car is under construction.  I only seen HB1 Light Blue on 'non' muscle mopars, mostly A-Bodies and a few B-Bodies but never a U Code Rallye or RoadRunner. Any comments??

HB1 is a fairly unusual color for any performance Mopar.  That said, I do have a copy of the Broadcast sheet from a U-code Rallye that is HB1... only it has a White interior and full vinyl top... built October 28.  Still very rare in my opinion!  :2thumbs:

I keep an informal registry of any 72 Rallye car I run across.  Any pics you're willing to share would be awesome!  I can also help with production numbers / decoding...

Love that 72 Rallye look.  Theres one in Baltimore Craigslist, 318 car but has a 440 now.  Guy says 1 of 165.  Not quite, being a 318 car tho.

Well the problem with "1 of _" is people get carried away. In the past it ment "1 of 4 Hemi cars", or "1 of 300 Convetables". Now people take it to be "1 of 165 1972 rallyes that were red with a 318 bucket, seats and hubcaps"

Yeah I know.  I'm pretty sure the number Galen lists for 72 Chargers with 440, 4 speed, and Rallye pkg is 165.  Its in the dealer section.  He revised the ad and removed the vin # so I guess someone called him on it.
