I didn't read all the details in the link but, from your home renovation threads I have seen, I am sure you can do that in your basement for $30,000.00 USD.

My neighbour has a bar built in his basement that is probably one of the nicest bars I have ever seen.  Not just basement bars, but bars in general.  All done by himself.

My Father built one in our old house growing up that was just as nice as my neighbours.  If only I had photos!

Our basement will be done in the next year or so, all geared towards the children with the plan that it can easily be re-renovated once they get older.

Thanks, but my basement is currently taken over by the kids toys also (along with the rest of the house) so i wont be building one anytime soon.  I'm not a beer man at all, more of a bourbon whiskey guy myself.

@ Ponch  :smilielol: :smilielol:  your still hung up on the golden throat arent you?

I'd love to renovate my bar in to something like that. I've got almost every other room in the house lined up in front of it though.

What I have now is perfectly functional, but not really to my tastes. It was done by a previous owner.

Our basement is 2 levels and the wall between the 2 is cut out and the bar is in that opening.
So, actually, the back of the bar is at bar height and the front is more like a normal kitchen table height.

The overhang above the bar is shingled with blue asphalt shingles... so is the back wall behind the bar.  :shruggy:

The drop ceiling has wood panels for ceiling tiles - some are plywood some are 1-by dimensional lumber..  :eek2:
and they are all covered with Labatt's Blue bottle caps. I don't drink Labatt's Blue.  :-\

I DO drink Guinness!!

It makes for interesting conversation, though...
