Friends / GTX on cover of MCG

My friends Al and Val made it on the cover of MCG ( Jan '09 ).

Their '68 GTX 440/4speed rag got invited back to the Forge show this year.   It was there in '07 also.   They've owned the car for nearly 20 years now I believe.   It was in MCG back in the early '90s when it was red after he had it repainted at another local shop.   It rusted to hell in the years inbetween getting redone in factory black.

I spent a few days trying to get the thing all back together in July '07 for it to go to Carlisle.    My friend / bodyguy / painter Speedo did the car for them. 

Some people here may have seen the car at Carlisle this year or last.   Really nice  folks.

Good for them!  It's nice to see long term owners and it's also nice to see he didn't give up on the car when it "rusted to hell".  In MCG twice huh, does he know them or they just really like the car that much? (and whats not to like)

Way cool they've had it for so long.  A rarity nowadays.  That's a car worthy of me buying the issue.

It looks like my buddy's hardtop.  And that stolen Charger is a local car.

I remember seeing that GTX at Carlisle this past summer- couldn't stop drooling over it! What a beauty- talked to Al for a bit about the car as well- nice and personable guy.
