i don't belive so, my '71 RR is too... and i was contacted by a guy who owns the identical car built just ahead of mine, my V.i.n. ends in 4, his in 3,.. anyhow, you wont be able to claim it's a one of one... cause they built the cars in batches and spread them around the dealers,.. mine was orig. sold in Alameda Ca. his in Portland Ore.. i wonder if there were any others built just like ours... with the same three options in poly gold and black..  :shruggy:

Tell us some details about your Car Please..   :popcrn:

In my opinion it doesn't matter if it was sales bank or customer ordered, it really comes down to the combination of options.  There are some very unique sales bank cars and some very generic almost fleet order groups.  Just as some customers ordered options with taste and others demonstrated that their taste was all in their mouth.

i was just curious if it meant anything different. it was originally a butterscotch color. the one i bought still has what's left of the original paint. california built car..

This is absolutely not meant as a patronizing or demeaning statement but just as an fyi in case you don't know.  Sales bank units were ones that essentially went into a "central holding area" (not quite so literally as that) so that the lines would keep running.  In effect, it would be extremely poor from a cost effective standpoint to have employees stand around until some orders came into the factory.  Soooo, Chrysler (and all the automakers) generate orders for the sales bank from which dealers can choose stock to keep their lots filled on short notice.  Sometimes the sales bank would get overfilled and there would be a push on the dealers to take cars and sometimes dealers would have a great month and suddenly find their lots empty.  It just sort of means cars in waiting if you will.  Whereas dealers could also order units specifically for their own lot fillers (the dealers version of the sales bank) and they could place orders for customers who wanted cars spec'd out their way.  Thats all it really means.
