Hey gang,
This topic came up a while ago, a few folks mentioned that they would like to see this book from 1964, so here is the link;

Cool

Thanks for posting that. Interesting read for sure.  :2thumbs:  :yesnod:

So they ended up crushing all those cars correct? There are none around for historical viewing?

There are a few functional Ghia-body units from the program where they let 50 people have them for a while.  Most of them were crushed AFAIK.  One of the running/driving Ghia cars is located at the Museum of Transportation in St. Louis, and makes regular visits to the Monster Mopar show.  They are VERY cool rides and sound more like a vacuum cleaner is running instead of an engine...  :o

Remember the average response time to a 911 call is over 4 minutes.

The average response time of a 357 magnum is 1400 FPS.

   Heard a story from a fellow who used to work in the turbine program, he claimed that whenever he would bring one of the cars home the neighbors would come and take a look and he would subsequently show them how smooth the engine was by placing a nickle on the top of the engine and rev to almost redline (40,000 rpm). Of course the nickle did not move!

 I have had the pleasure of hearing Al bradshaw talk  3 times . Twice here in kansas city and once at monster mopar in st louis . His stories of the turbine car program are great.  He is very funny also .

    here is his interview here
