Hey, but isn't a "herpes prescription" gonna be the same drug even if it's used for a normal cold sore?  A person could have caught those from more mundane ways or even been born with it.

She was hot as hell in "Terminator 3" though.  And menacing.

The idea of a female Terminator sounded pretty questionable to me on paper before the film was in the can.  But she made it work better than I expected in the final movie IMO.

I know that crowd tests a lot and keeps a handle on all the heavy-duty STDs.  But I heard that they basically gave up on trying to keep Herpes under control.

Approximately one in four American adults have genital herpes.  In other words, If you are an adult, you have a 25% chance of having genital herpes.  If you have been sexually active with more than one partner, your chances go up exponentially.  Herpes is the most common STD...why?  because most of the people who have it don't know they have it.  Most of the time, genital herpes manifests itself as something so minor (an itch, a small bump) that people just ignore it.

Also, in people ages 12 and up, infection rate is 20%.

Fastest rate of growth is among white teenagers.

Scary huh?

Yeah, I knew the rates of it were through the roof in general. 

It's not surprising, really.  It's the most minor of the STDs to live with but the hardest to prevent and impossible to cure.


We should probably be thankful it's Herpes that is in the position of being THE common STD, and not something else.  If one of the STDs was gonna be rampant at least it's just a minor recurring skin rash.  Sure beats dealing with a 25% HIV rate or something. 

It's just too bad we can't permanently cure or vaccinate against cold sores & Herpes yet.
