GM engine number question: please don't kill me!!!

i know this i s a mopar site but are there any GM guys too that could read some GM engine block numbers for me? it is a 327 with the following numbers: front pad:FO4I4GF      rear: GM  3849852              thanks guys for any help! :cheers:

You sure you got a 327??

Cause the casting number 3849852 shows it to be 283

thanks flg. i honestly wasn't sure. guess i was told wrong. i only paid $40 for the engine. just curious as to  :scratchchin: :scratchchin:what it is....

Not sure of the year but its a 283.

I dont think anyone on here would, maybe bust your chops but thats abou it. Im not biased, i like mopars but i was a big ford fan before that. Also have a good friend who regularly goes cruizing with me with a Z-28 iroc, another friend has a Firebird... :2thumbs:
