Hi,

I'm having trouble getting my dash out of my car. I need to install a 150mph speedo and tack. Anybody know how to do this?

Really the best way to go is to remove the entire dash.

Just lower the steering column by removing the bolts
at the floorplate & the collar up under the dash.

Loosen (but don't remove) the bolt on either end of the lower dash.

Remove the speaker/defroster grill.

Disconnect all wiring that hooks up to stuff not directly mounted on the dash.  This includes the main
bulkhead disconnect, body wiring harness in the left footwell, domelight switches in the doorways and
a couple of wires that need to be unplugged from inside the enginebay & fished through the firewall.

Remove alot of bolts (6 I think) at the front of the dash & you're good to go!

Doesn't matter which Ralley cluster you have when it comes to adding a 150mph speedo; but, the Tach
will only bolt into a Rallye cluster that came with a clock.

So, why remove the entire dash?  It's easy & you get to clean & inspect everything.  Also, some wiring
connectors get brittle & need replacing.  This is much easier on a workbench than flat on your back.

I'll take your 120 speedo if you plan to trash it.

there are a couple of threads made in the past where I posted step by step both procedures, to remove just the cluster or the complete dash

I removed a complete rally dash with just lowering the steering colum. Once you get the speedo cable undone and the radio removed. The dash will come forward enough to start disconecting the wires/light bulbs. The wiper/light switches can have the mounting nut removed and that will give the extra room to get to everything behind the dash.
