Thats a good point he makes at the end.  To destroy all the reciepts of the build when he gets them so that he doesnt really have to know how much money "they" have into it.

But today, a guy would want to keep that stuff for insurance purposes.

I have two words for you, PT:

Plausible Deniability

Honest sweetie, I have no idea how much that car restoration cost...

The need for that escape clause trumps the need for insurance verification purposes IMHO - that's what Agreed Value coverage is for.

Dean Reiber from Texas sent a note about his Daytona. The club and member Gene
Lewis were able to reunite the build sheet for Dean's car. Dean's car is a beautiful
Petty Blue and was restored in this color thirty years ago by former owner Tom
Hayden in Pennsylvania. With a white tail stripe it's a striking color combination.
"Doug, just a quick note to thank you and the gentleman who forwarded the build
sheet for my Daytona to you. Receiving it after so long was great.
This event reminded me what a family the collector car community really is. Thanks
again to all. Please find enclosed a photo of my Daytona as it appears today next to
the "so called" Daytona truck. Sincerely, Dean Reiber.

I found this in a newsletter .That closes the case on this car

Which the broadcast sheet to the Y2 car was in Doug C friend Steve's Q5 Daytona. And the broadcast sheet to the Q5 Daytona was in the Daytona that Clayton Kassouth found in the St. Louis are a few years ago. I knew where the Q5 car was, and I believe Gene knew where the Y2 car was.

Interesting chain of events that all the wrong found sheets found there way back to the cars they went with

I don't think the car in St. Louis ever got the proper sheet though.

If this Dean R still has this old Tom Hayden car. I stumbled across this newspaper archive on that car from 1985

I can cetainly relate to that!

On another note, isn't it amazing how so many muscle cars got beat so badly up in such a short period of time?
