Now the question remains, will it be able to handle Mr. Angrier?

they should fire the person that thought up that paint  .  kills the car .  :eek2:

The car actually looks better in person. But, I still would have painted it a different color.

nothing like cutting corners , NO PLUG !!! Does it have Vacuum headlights ?

hotrod98

It does have the plug. They showed it being installed on Musclecar. They also made the headlamps work using electric servos.

Before people start hating on this thing let me just say that this car is SERIOUS... I've followed this build since day one as Bill sent me some pics while the car was under construction and this Superbird really is a true Nascar spec. recreation. The detail work on this car is second to none and when you really get up close and personal with it you see that the amount of engineering is really top notch. I also spoke at length about the car with Kevin King who is the president of Year One and he explained that the build on the car got more serious as it progressed. Also, this was one of the few indoor SEMA cars that came in under it's own power and is ready to roll, it's not a show pony.

Paint wise... well, not really my cup of tea and I think that ANGRIER is a more menacing looking car, but keep in mind, we did the  Daytona in our garage and Year One did the Superbird in theirs (big difference). The cool part is that the car is being auctioned for charity at this years Barrett Jackson. All in all this was probably one of the most impressive cars at SEMA.

It aggravates me that people who either make money building wingcars or just in the media ALWAYS get the facts wrong , that Jackass said the cars had an Alum nose  ! Also that glass wing will peel off at 200 , the nose will be fine , but that wing will pull off the studs

Mike, My son recognized Goldberg when you guys walked by. He asked me if I realized that it was him and I said no, but I recognize the guy that's with him.  ;D

Would have been great to have had the time to hang out over there at the booth with you guys. So much to see, so little time.

The show was really overwhelming. I was there from Sun. till' Fri. and still didn't see everything. Some good stuff, but some pretty awful stuff as well. I was actually sick of seeing the new Challenger by the end of the show... there were SO many of them.

You guys do realize that the ENTIRE cost of the build was covered by Year One and all the sale proceeds are going to Darrel Gwynn Foundation right?

hotrod98

Good point. I think that once you see this car in person, you realize that it's a very nice, well planned car. Like I said earlier, the only thing that I might have changed is the color scheme. A collector might have paid a little more for a racecar replica with a racecar paint scheme. Then again, maybe not. These guys probably know the market better than most.
Hope it brings megabucks for DGF.

That car is sweet!  I'd love to be driving that bad boy to the grocery store.   :2thumbs:
Looks like a worthy cause I'd say.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?
