Since it said no trespassing and private property you should not have gone and looked at those cars.  You should have found out whos cars it was first.  You are breaking the law just to snap a few pictures of cars rotting.  That's a big NO NO.  You can be arrested, and now that you've photographed that you did this, and posted it on the internet, you can get in bigger trouble.  It is never alright to break the law just for a few up close pictures.

Hmmm, with a board name like Devil.... interesting.    So, let me guess NEVER in your life you have done anything wrong?  Give it a rest bubba.

Just going 1 mph over speed limit against law, I bet DEVIL never did that ::) :scratchchin:

alright fellas, let's get back to the action at hand before this gets out of hand. i can smell where this one is gonna end up. drinks on me

on a side note, where was the 68 troy was referring and it doesn't look like it was abandoned too long ago, they got direct tv. :icon_smile_big:   sad sight if they had to just jump ship and leave all that good stuff behind.
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

khojnacki

Well another little update. I contacted a friend who's dad was Mayor of the largest town up there and he knows the property and the owner. He's going to contact them for me to find out if they are interested in selling the cars. The property was abandoned years ago due to the house became unlivable and the kids had moved away. The cars were his son's who moved to TX years ago. I asked if I could take some shots of the cars close up and he said that would be fine as long as I did not go inside the house so I guess I'm covered. He did not want people trampling all over the property due to the liability if someone got hurt.

Kojack, thats good news, maybe they can be bought cheap. Lots of places & cars like that just get junked at the local scrapyard. Somebody should save them before that happens. LEON.

It is nice to see people trying to justify breaking the law by trying to insult others when they have no logical response.  That definately shows the maturity of those individuals.

I've taken thousands of cars in barns pictures, and I've never had to trespass to get any of them.  If you wanted to get the pictures, you should have found out whose they were first, and gotten permission.

See, that wasn't so hard, now you can go walk around without worry.

Hey, this is not a mopar... but I hope it's ok to post it anyway.
Went to my grandparent's for thanksgiving this week, and was taking an "wow, I ate too much" walk down a country road to help the food settle when I found this car in a neighbor's pasture.

Unbelievable.  I think it's a 1959 mercury montego.
Surprisingly, much of the trim was still in great shape.
But that tree has to be at least 20 years old!

Couple more angles:

Hey, I modified my message above with a couple more angles.
There's a pretty good amount of rust on the car, but it's in shockingly good shape!
There was also evidence that some burrowing animal had been living in the engine compartment, as dirt was pushed up between the tree and the front of the car.
Some of the original paint looked polishable to a shine.

By the way, this was in Central Oklahoma.  We have hot dry summers, but our winters get pretty cold - and we have a good amount of rainfall in this farm country.  It really surprises me how well the body has weathered!

Not to get into a p*sing match, and I acknowledge your valid points, I would like to state that 1.)  I wasn't the first to post pics, 2.) until I actually got to the cars did I see the signs, they were posted on buildings not on the general property (you could not see them from the road) 3.) The property seemed abandoned and 4.) I guess I'm just not as good of a person as you. Then again, carrying around that much self rightnous must be a heavy weight to carry on a daily basis. While I would never recommend anyone doing what I did, I do appreciate people who actually take their own time and expense to help others on the forum. It was neither a short drive for me and anyone driving an SUV a couple of hundred miles understands the cost. I guess its just my Christmas spirit trying to help out other that are try to save a little bit of our automotive past. Unlike many, I have no profit motive in this endever. I was born in Detroit during the hey day of muscle cars and my family built most of the cars we covet today. If I have "bent" the rules or "broke" the law then I will apologize to whomever I offended. You will notice in the picture I did not touch or move anything. I will post more information as soon as I get receive it but I won't dignify any more trolling from those who should keep their opinions to themself. We all can read, we know what a sign means, we do not need to be lectured on the obvious. Oh also please excuse me for correcting your spelling with the spell check option furnished free with the forum.

for someone who has only posted 294 times in 3 years and only trolls to view others' "cars in barns" types of pics... you sure are an opinionated blankety blank blank.  why dont you work on being a postive contributor to this board instead of handing out advice that no one asked for.  it would nice for you to master something other than being a donkey cavity.

kohjnacki and hemi-hampton, thanks for the PICS BTW... nice to see something may come out of this.

I'm going to break my own self confessed rule here.  Devil has a legitimate point. We should not go trampling around peoples property just to take some shots. I agree with him on this point. Again, the only reason I did was the property was abandoned. You will see from the Coronet shots, I stayed on the road and did not intrude. What we DO NOT want to do is give our hobby a bad reputation for trespassing. We have enough stacked against us with the EPA and State Laws. As far as I am concerned the issue is over. I appreciate the over whelming support for my endeavor and it goes to show that we all have a true passion for these cars and will go to great lengths to continue to save them.

The guy I got the Pics from was on the Property with a Realter, He had permission to be there since the realter was trying to sell him the 30 acres of property. He passed on it. Maybe to dumpy or run down for him or 30 acres to much, dont know, did not ask. The original picture taker was not even much of a car guy but a Antique collector friend of mine. I think he did say the cars go with whoever wants to buy the property. No boundries crossed on my part that I'm aware of :scratchchin:  LEON.

It is nice to see that the maturity level has sure gone down in the past few years.  Even the person who took the picture concedes the point, yet there are those that have to try and speak down to me to try and feel intelligent.  If that makes you guys feel better, so be it.  All I did was post the truth, you guys don't want to hear it, fine.  Don't whine about my post for speaking the truth.  Just shows how mature you are.

I don't need to justify myself to anyone, but I've helped many car guys in the midwest, driving hours just to find a car for an individual.  Moved cars, parts and everything inbetween to help another car guy out, most of it coming out of my pocket and not asking for anything in return.  I just don't need to post about them to feel good about myself.

I understand the situation, I can see that kohjnacki and hemi-hampton are just trying to do their best to save some great old Mopar Muscle.  They are investigating all possible leads and following the information to try and save these cars.  And that is a great story, and adventure and I can respect that.

You are right ryan/devil.. i just said what i said because i cant stand you and your holier than thou mentality... you annoy me with your dribble and out of pure dislike for you and your existence, i said what i said. immature? probably.. truthful.. most definitely.  will i take it back? not in a million years.

i dont need to speak down to you to feel intelligent, i am intelligent (intelligence is not a feeling, its a matter of being)... i spoke ill of you because i dont like you.  (funny, you will talk down to others but will not call yourself on it).

the truth you spoke of was a no-brainer.  hell, we all know the legalities of the situation.  we just dont need a self-righteous, pompous, condescending, nitwit like yourself to "think" you have to remind us just so (1) you feel like you have purpose on this board or (2) you need to feel like everyone's momma and tell them what they can and cannot do for some weird, "feel-good, gonna make me feel warm and fuzzy inside" reason that you may harbor.

I wont post anything else about this that is off-topic, because one, it wont accomplish anything and two.. i still wont like you today, tomorrow or any of the day's following.

And perhaps from that "intelligence" you have, you will get some wisdom and know when to drop it.
