Are these things for sale?!?!? I am just east of Cincinnati, and maybe I could convince my dad to go look at these. Are they for sale? He wont look at anything unless he knows it is for sale.

OK...I found them....What an adventure. Can you say Deliverance? There were times I really thought I could hear in the back of my mind "I want to hear you squeal like a pig boy". Now that they have been located I will use some contacts to try to locate the owner. Needless to say its on abandoned property. Also it was posted EVERYWHERE that its Private Property and No Trespassing. I will say a few things, most if not all the cars are without engines that I could tell. Possibly the 71,73 may have them. All the cars were locked and the purple peel on window tint made it impossible to get vin numbers or raise the hoods. They are all in "rough" shape depending upon your definition. The 69' looks like it may be an R/T BUT there is a huge hole in the roof that was cut out and it has been picked over through the years it seems. Also it appears to be an A/C car with cruise control. Most would be easy to remove except for the green plymouth which is behind the property in mud beside a creek. Also included are two Coronets that are in better shape that I found on the way home. Most have interiors. Here are the pic's:

So much for "southern rust free" huh? (it's a popular tagline up here in the rust belt)

I'm glad you got the further pics though, there are still some good parts or porjects there.

khojnacki

LOL, I don't think KY ever considered itself "South". I would say that, due to being in Northern Ky, more salt was used than here in central KY. All are "salvagable" but would need substantial work. There are some very rare parts.

Looks like that 69 was a R/T se with power windows also?  :scratchchin: That couger up a few pics looks like it is a GTE very very rare car if it is. GTE was GT eleminator before that was a option only a few made.

I agree on the cougar. Unfortunately, by looking at the surroundings, you can imagine I was somewhat hesitant to just walk up and snap more close-up shots. Those were taken from the road

it would be nice to know if thwy are for sale or willng to sell . the problem is the way that place looks if you were to knock on the door you just might end up on the bussiness end of a 12 GAUGE double barrel  :o

Looks like a nice power bulge hood on that one charger :o Rarer yet is the GTE with the 427 big block, only like 28 made,, worth big money. If so I think a W should be in Vin for 427. the 69 charger looked like best canidate for resto. If property for sale you should be able to find out who owns them from the realty co. LEON.

WingCharger

I just noticed, the '69 Charger has hood pins!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
If those are factory, that is a very rare car!!

khojnacki

I didn't see any for sale signs on the property at all. All I saw was NO TRESPASSING and PRIVATE PROPERTY signs. I may pursue this so if anyone is interested drop me a line. On the good side, like I said, all the cars are easy to remove except the green plymouth. Since I'm kinds of a n00b here (when I was much younger I owned numberous 68 and 69 chargers over the years) I have a question. If you look at the interior of the 69', on the floor it appears that it was a standard?

Not stock - the hole would be much larger.

I'd love to have a 68 Super Bee (especially blue) like the one in that first set of pics.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

Not to be a wise ass or anything but I am sure you know already, with no tresspassing signs on the property and you posting these pics it wouldn't be hard to get in trouble if the owners found out. Just saying be careful.  I have had freinds in trouble for less :Twocents:

Very very true...that's why you really don't see landmarks around it. Not that it would be that hard but like I said, the property seems abandoned for many many years. I think the newest thing I say was a Styrofoam coffee cup on the ground from McDonald's from 5 yrs ago.

On a side note, Is anone from the Northern Ohio area on the boards? If so drop me a line. I lived in a very small town up there years ago and may know where a 68 and a 69 is still sitting in a yard

Kinda strange why they are just sitting there like that. Maybe it is in a forclosure? I'm surprised they are intact as they are since they are visible from the road.

Well, they are a little off the road. If it were spring or summer you probably would not even see them. More importantly is they are in the middle of NOWHERE! There is nothing around them. The closest little towns ( and I mean mom and pop food/gas/diner/post office all in one building) are 10 miles away. Very rough terrain all around with some low level flat areas for farming. I saw 2 schools that were closed and boarded up. Very few people still live in these areas and most have moved away due to lack of jobs.

Yep, it's sad to think how many good cars of al stripes were ruined for those pop up aftermarket sunroof deals.

TheAutoArchaeologist

Since it said no trespassing and private property you should not have gone and looked at those cars.  You should have found out whos cars it was first.  You are breaking the law just to snap a few pictures of cars rotting.  That's a big NO NO.  You can be arrested, and now that you've photographed that you did this, and posted it on the internet, you can get in bigger trouble.  It is never alright to break the law just for a few up close pictures.
