Here's a quick shot of business-as-usual at the shop with the General being (almost) done..

And here are a few of the guys fussing over my car right before bringing it to the show.. Making sure it was all perfect...

All in all, today was AWESOME. An absolute dream come true.. I had people walking up to me telling me they had followed this car since this thread began.. People I had never met.. VERY cool day. One that I will never forget!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you. Yes, I'm going to keep the stance here.. When I got the car it had a nice rake with the nose low, but with the oil pan hovering 2.5" off the ground and the headers about the same, I figured it was a matter of time until things started to hit. My area isn't the best for road condition, and my driveway is very steep with a large 'hump' at the top.. So I'm safe this way.

Where was this show you went to?

Car looks awesome.

The show was on 106 in Halifax, at Wal-Mart. The store has been closed for 7 months being remodeled, so there were no shoppers around, just cars.. Very cool night. I just wish the sun stayed out a bit longer.. My car was in the shade about an hour in...

Now, I thought, for some reason, that I posted these here, but I can't see that I did! They aren't spectacular burnouts, but I don't have line-lock and I generally don't pound on my stuff to the point of frying my rear brakes... Here's my buddy doing a little display for me while I filmed... Just to give you a taste of what (some of) you asked for. The transmission/torque converter are brand new(as you know). It shifts REALLY nice and plants the power to the ground just like I was hoping it would (unlike before when it wouldn't even break the tires loose!!!!!).

Sorry this was so shaky , but it was spur of the moment. We were in a crowded industrial park/residential area, so we couldn't go too crazy.

 You will not believe this, but we decided to sell the Vette.. Now is not the time to sell (why buy just to dump it into storage for the winter), but come Spring it's outa there.......

What's next? Funny you should ask.. Daisy's Roadrunner........ AND NO, I WILL NOT GO BUY THIS NEXT CAR ALONE. Don't worry, there WILL NOT BE A PART II to my idiocy.

Thanks! Like I said, they were taken spur of the moment.. They were trying to get me out of there to the show so I'd get a good spot, but I had this one request...

This is a lame video, but I took it just to show how nice the tranny shifted at 1/4 throttle.. Very crisp under normal driving conditions.

Dude, the car looks badass! I love the stance and the wide meats at all four quarners, looks like it wants to run everybody down!

Yeah me too.

I like the different takes folks are doing to their General's lately.  Kinda breaks up the monotony.

Your Lee's looking good.  That motor sounds awesome.  Little trick I do with mine.  Run it along about 15-20 mph in 1st & then nail it.  The ensuing smoke show is always impressive.

ChgrSteve67

Congradulations on getting your GL finished and taking HIM to HIS first car show.

I'm know you will have lots of fun and get lots of attention driving around.

Now its time to get to work on that car show display.

Tilar

Man that thing not only looks fantastic but it sounds fantastic too! I can just imagine the grin you had on your face while doing those videos.  :icon_smile_cool:  I hope you plan on Carlisle next year, I want to see it.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Guys, thanks for all of your comments!!! I've been on cloud 9 the past few days. Today was awesome!!!! We found an awesome country setting and took a whole bunch of pics and video. When I get back tomorrow I will post them.

Plus, that tip was right. This thing will horrify the tires at 15-20 mph!!! Impressive power.

I believe the all Mopar show is next Saturday at New England Dragway in Epping. Are you going?

Congrats on seeing this saga through to its happy conclusion.  I admire your commitment to getting the car finished.  I daresay most of us would have thrown in the towel long ago.  Cheers & enjoy.

i love the raised stance of the front end, looks great. what bars are you running on it?  and what size tires did you put up front?

General_01

What a beautiful sight Jeff. I am very happy for you. That car looks great. I am sure you were in heaven finally driving the car down the road. I am very happy that we will NOT have an update thread on your car to check on anymore. Now we will just have a "Jeff and GL show schedule and pics" thread to keep up with. Have fun with that thing. :2thumbs:
