Are muscle car prices really coming down this much?

First, to the mods, I placed this here for discussion, and not because of the ads themselves. They seem cheap to me. Thought I'd get opinions.

I would think this '69 Camaro would be worth more then $6k :o

Same goes for the Super Bee in this ad. Wouldn't this be a $20k car a few years ago? $12k seems like it is cheap for a true Bee :shruggy: Even the '67 Barracuda sounds like it would sell for a higher price then $8,500.

My friend would crap himself if he saw that Camaro ad. He wants basically that same Camaro down to the colour.

Since I have no intention of selling my car and would be interested in finding another, especially that 67-69 fastback Barracuda that's eluded me for 30 years, falling prices work for me.

Old Moparz

Prices sure are down. If you absolutely need to sell something, you aren't going to get anywhere near what the prices were a short time ago. I'm finding that out with my '71 Barracuda right now. When I bought it several years ago & posted pics, I had a few emails & PM's from people looking to buy it. Now that I have it listed for sale with a ton of parts, I haven't received a single one. I could lower the price drastically, or stick it on ebay with no reserve, but I was trying to break even so I can put some money into another project without dipping into savings to do that.

It's obvious to me that the market might be back to the way it was a long time ago & prices are cheaper. I still think the low production cars that are highly desirable will hold higher prices, but the projects, amateur restos, or the bondo buggies are in the tank for now. I have a friend who's been asking me about the Barracuda ever since I got it, but I'm not so sure he's seriously interested. He'll be building a new garage this coming spring to put his '69 Chevelle in & a second car. Maybe he's just waiting until he has the space.  :shruggy:

camaro was a scam.  I think that a lot more scam artists are in better shape to be able to dupe someone in to giving them money for a fake listing due to the economic profile, so everyone please be careful.  :Twocents:

Yes and no. I sold my 69 three weeks ago and did extremely well on it. All it takes is one buyer with a woody for your car.  :D

this barracuda was a scam too, was for sale here in quebec this summer for 4500$, my friend told me about that, i tell him to not give his cash before to see the car in person, the car was in edmonton and the lady sais that is men was dead and you know the story.....

The70RT

Most are pretty obvious. I believe prices have fallen some but your not gonna get a really sweet car for 10K -15 anywhere. If you do it's gonna be a Duster or Dart notta Bee or Charger.

Seems a decent price to me.....

Genuine Mopar muscle. Yellow with black hoodscoops. Paint is presentable and shiny. Clean black interior with buckets. 727 trans. Manual valve body. 3:91 posi., 8.75 diff. Strong 440 c.i.; runs great. This car is quick and loud (headers; 3" exhaust) and ready for the street. A real attention-getter.

My 401K is down 45% why wouldn't collector car prices be down? I'm still looking for that 69 Daytona for under $100K :nana:

This car was sold many years ago to somebody in Wisconsin. I now am retired and living in Florida.

It was $14K when I saw it last year. $9K is a pretty good price I think. But then, maybe prices will get even better, who knows? I like what's happening to prices...

But buy now because when they bounce back, it could be with a vengeance.

Sometimes cars that you see in pictures aren't always as they appear in person. I'm tipping there's probably a good reason that Bee hasn't sold.

Then again - the economy is so bad that maybe people just have more to do with their money. It won't always be that way though. I'd be hanging onto it if it's a genuine car, and not giving it away.

It seemed pretty decent when I saw it. The paint has some dings and scratches. I'm pretty sure its an unrestored survivor.
