I was just wondering when ordering some parts for my 73 400 Charger I noticed it asked if it had a Leece Neville alternator. The remanufactured units I have don't have any casting numbers stamped in them or I can't see them. How do I know if it's a Leece Neville alternator or not?

What years & what reasons were the LN alt provided for?

Are these a rare option?  I've heard of them; but never noticed them installed before.

100 amps output... so double of regular alt average output.

I think mostly mounted on police/taxy cars, tow equipped and stuff like that
