I was reading a  book on mopars today, and it mentioned that in 1979 and 1980 a number of Volares were rebadged as Dusters! :shruggy: I have found NO info about these anywhere. Does anybody here no anything about these, or have some pictures of one?

Ghoste

Just curious but if you were reading a Mopar book and it was talking about them, wouldn't that count as info?

This is all the book had:
"The Duster name was revived in 1979, on the F-Platform. They were based on the Plymouth Volare, and were discontinued in 1980 when the F-Platform was discontinued."

Most likely the nicest one in existence. I saw it in Carlisle this year.

THAT IS AWESOME! I love F-Bodys. Wonder if I could clone one... :scratchchin: :icon_smile_big:

They're aren't much more than a footnote really.  I've checked a couple of sources and I can't find any production figures for you.  I do remember them but they were never a big seller like the original Dusters.

Drache

They were the same as Aspens and Volares although have a lower production numbers per sae. It was the same as the "Volare Roadrunner" nothing but some badges.

You could "clone" it but in reality the title still reads "Volare" if Im not mistaken. The only way to tell R/T's, Roadrunner's, and Dusters' is the fendertag has (I believe) and A57.

Would the Duster be A48 or is that a stripe option on the stripe option?

I owned a 79 Volare Duster. My brother now owns it. It has a super 6 motor, which is a /6 with a 2 barrel. It says super 6 on the air cleaner.  A front spoiler, window louvers and a stripe package.  I'll try to find some pics of it.

There are two F-bodies in the classifieds here right now in fact! I'd give my left nut for the Volare roadunner!  :brickwall:
