cleaning cooling system

Hi... I asked long time ago about how to clean engine and radiator system without remove anything but can't find the thread. I have heard about using amoniac ( cloridric acid, used on pools ) or I think so?

how do you proceed on that ?

I think I remember procedure will be adding one glass or two on system, let it run for some minutes ( maybe in fact 20 or 30 minutes ) and then flush the system... is on that way ? is that the quantity ?
