I was just wondering what some of you guys run for MSD: series, coil, blaster etc... I have heard a lot of different combinations and was wondering which ones work best for you. Also, when I got my charger it had a mopar ignition control unit. Do any of you guys use this and how does it work for you. Thank you!

I run a MSD6AL on my Charger and love it.  I had a Chrome box,,and orange box in the past,,,and had problems at times,,,but nothing bad....but after going to the MSD,,,,i wouldnt go back,,,much easier to start, smoother idle,,,plus has a rev limiter built in.
I run a MSD blaster coil (had this w/chrome box,,,and the MSD 6AL)

Which box is on yours now ??
If its daily street use type of car,,,the orange box,,,and a mild aftermarket coil should work fine.

MSD ready to run. Drop right in and Smoke the tires :yesnod: :drive: Its their newest distributor out right now.
69 FEELS FINE

I run MSD 6 and blaster coil and a MSD 5 and blaster coil. Work fine with points or Electroinc. MSD 5 is 20 years old and still works fine.

if the Mopar ign is properly tuned & the plugs & wires are new you will gain somewhere between little & nothing with the MSd
BTW the MSD multi spark quits at 3000 rpm, just about where most engines really start making power

It is also where are engines spend most of there time as well. Helped my MPG and starting and idle all so.

If you choose to go with a MSD box you might visit the parts counter at your local Dodge dealership before ordering from Summit or going to a speed shop.
Mopar Performance sells multiple spark discharge boxes - manufactured by MSD. They are the same thing, just in black and labled "Mopar."
Depending on how well the parts counter people treat you you can often save big $ by going with Mopar and reading the info in the performance catalog.
Just a thought.
Sixty-eights look great and the '69 is fine.
But before the General Lee there was me - Headrope.

And I believe that MP unit is a 6AL, correct?

That is correct. Every car that i've added an MSD unit to has run better. Better start, idle and throttle response. No more ballist resistor to deal with. I have the MP box which is basicly a 6al repackaged in Mopar colors.
