Friend of mine need to know what a well detail 71 to 74 Charger trunk should look like. Having only worked on 2 Gens I have no PIC to help them. I was going to go out to Mopar Heaven (Friends shop) to get some PIC but life happend. Everything from pulling the 90 mile 440 out of my Charger to having my brother in law come to stay with me a while.

Hope you people can help. Feel like I have let them down, going on 3 weeks.

Ken, Here's a pic of a 71 with the rare "trunk dress up " option, note the carpeted cover on the spare tire and the black cardboard covers on the inner wheel wells   :yesnod:

Daytona R/T SE, never knew you could even get them done that way.

Anymore PIC.

Yaa your right...consider it deleted.
It was just the nicest trunk shot I have seen. Thought it was applicable since they were cousins.

I got tired of waiting for my 3 Gen bretheren to reply so I went into the garage and took a few of my 71 SE. As far as I know it is unrestored and original. It also has the dress up package.

Take a look.

Yep, pretty cool set-up  :yesnod:

Looks like the trunk of my Imperial  :o  'cept my spare tire thingy is long gone  >:(

Nope, Ken.  Mine isn't.  Still has yellow grease pencil writing on the inside of the lid though to ensure the spare was an F60-14...

I thought maybe it was standard on 71 SE models but I just checked my window sticker (original) and I don't see it listed as standard or optional  - I wonder how mine got there?  ???

My 74 SE trunk is bare as they come.

My friend has a Mustang and the guy who had it before him Rino lined the trunk and engine compartment. i realy liked it. i've been looking at some of the new trucks and they are now paint matching the bed liner... this got me thinking, the charger would be awesome with paint matched Rino lining in the trunk and engin bay! now if i could see a picture of that i'd be intrested in seeing it.

Surely some one on this board has a painted 3RD Gen Charger Trunk?

Guess 3rd Gens people don't paint there trunks Ken

Well, my trunk is painted, doesn't have that fnacy dress-up kit, just F3 on the inside with assembly scribbling in yellow grease pencil on the lid.  Unfortunately a) the trunk is a mess, some rust and lots of oil, crap, etc..., but more of a limitation b) I'm 9,000mi from home and can't take any pics.  When I get back from my tour, I'll be starting the long road of getting the body back in shap to match the mechanicals, and will no doubt be taking lots of pics as a record of what I'm doing.

Ken, are you looking more for the detailing that one would see in a 3rd gen trunk?  Marks, jack, stickers, etc?

Cheers,
Duey

Here is how mine looked when I recieved it.

It does have the origional jack sticker on the trunk lid and the grease pencil markings from the factory as well as the origional mat supplied.
Here is how the grandparents left it.
