Mike,

Looks like you had your hands full holding off that Super Bee.

You definitely voided the warranty on the motor and transmission.

At 0:48, it looks like the Superbee caught air and almost plowed into the back of Angrier. :o

Maybe it was when he let off the gas at high speeds. I know it happens to my car at least when I let off sometimes. You can also see it at the drag strip when people let off the gas at the end.

Yeah. I noticed that too. Probably loaded up rich when the throttle slammed shut. Hopefully that's all it was. Could have sucked a ring though. I'm pretty sure I'd have heard about it had there been a catastrophic failure.

That being said, that road racing stuff is absolutely brutal. I built that motor to thrash on the street and hammer 1/4 mile at a time. I'm proud to see it taking the abuse, but I'm really cringing at the same time.

Wow. Looks like Angrier was holding it's own against a 40 year younger car.

Most likely raw fuel (it was black smoke) loaded up a little bit after all that high speed running and he let off the throttle.

Sure was cool to watch that big Daytona pull away from the new Charger too!!!!

Cool vid. That was actually at Grattan Raceway in MI. The Daytona did well but needs to be stiffened up a bit. Bigger sway bar up front and out back and better shocks. The black smoke was just fuel, it was running rich. Also need to adjust the brakes a bit as well as few other things. All in all though it did pretty well and even though its still a essentially a Charger the difference on the track between MR. ANGRY and ANGRIER is very different. The '68 has 30,000 test miles the Daytona has 3000... big difference as I know the '68 like the back of my hand whereas the Daytona still needs some development. The next big thing is the engine and tranny are coming out and a new package is going in plus the rear suspension is going to be completely redone which should yield some pretty big results when finished.

These cars are all trial and error. Build em', beat em, find the weak points and improve and repeat. It doesn't stop, but then again, it doesn't get old either.
