Is there a Canadian alternative to Chrysler historical?

I asked for and received a number of good leads for info from Chrysler historical recently.  All of those leads were very helpful but now I've hit a new roadblock and I'm wondering if anyone here has ever dealt with  anyone within Chrysler Canada who may have access to past records?

I know there is a mystery fella out Windsor way that somehow has tons of original dealer shipment information.
I have heard he has VIN numbers for all the Mopars in the Muscle Car Era that were shipped to Canada along with original dealer, town and in most cases the original owners name!

I've never even thought about contacting Chrysler Canada in hopes that they have any info.
I know that GM Canada provides that service to car owners that have a VIN, they can look through their microfish records and send you info on your car.

If you try Chrysler Canada, please let us know how you make out!

I'm definitely going to try them, I was just hoping for a shortcut to speed things along and yes, I will very much let you know how I make out.  Somehow though I'm expecting a lot of this  :brickwall: followed by offers to help select my new Chrysler vehicle.  :eyes:

Dave, I think I know of the guy you are referring to. He contacted me at the 70 Charger Registry and told me he had tons of Chrysler Canada paperwork. To prove it he sent me a scan of a small section of the Chrysler SG-30 Sales report which gives production numbers by option. I tried to get him to get me copies so we could post on the Registry site however he wanted $$$$. He then said he was thinking of publishing/selling a book with everything he had but never saw anything come out like that. I tried the "for the good of the hobby" speech but he wasn't interested at all. He felt he had a lost gold mine and wanted to cash in.

I ended up in business meetings with Chrysler Canada and I talked to a number of their management about gaining access to their historical records (aside from thinking I was nuts) however every one of them said there was no records that old warehoused anywhere in Canada. It would be fantastic to find some long forgotten storage facility full of old documentation.

Magnumcharger

OK...I'd be more than willing to have the origins of my vehicle discovered.
What's it worth to this guy?
If he's into selling information, like Govier, then he shouldn't mind having his contact information made public.

I believe that guy was where this list initially was obtained from:

If so, he's working at a GM dealership in London, ON.

Does the name Kevin McCabe ring any bells with anyone?

If you are talking about John Vanke that is not "the guy", although he was quite the Mopar Guy years ago, I am not sure how much he is in the hobby now????

Omigod, there's a name I haven't heard since the 80's.  He's in London now?  Last time I saw him was when he was looking to get out of the family tobacco empire up by New Delhi or Tillsonburg someplace.  Sold him a shaker scoop for an E-body and looked at a Hemi Road Runner he had for sale.

Yup - I got info from him on a 6BBL 'Cuda I bought about 8 years ago ...through a mutual friend (in Windsor) of the both of us. Told me the selling dealer and the name of the original owner which was right on the money. My friend slipped out his name by accident once - which I do not remember but I am sure it is not any of the names already mentioned in this thread. Nigel at Ntl. Moparts knows who it is. He seems to only have or care about performance stuff and I am not sure what years he covers other than the 1970 info I received. I think it is a warranty list he has because of the information he knows - i.e. Dealer, VIN and original owners name and address.

That's why I said, "If so," because it is John Vanka who is credited to the info on the site to which you posted a link. It says it right at the bottom of the list.
