Replaced my first u-joint(damn that was easy!). This doesn't fit my grease gun, how am I suppose to grease this?

Just 6T9 CHGR

Maybe it uses one of the needle type guns?  I'd just unscrew it & put in a regular Zerk fitting...

There is a smaller needle nosed pump gun that is commonly used to grease impact guns. I don't have a pic. of one handy, but I would say they are pretty common. I have had one for more than 20 years.

If you go the direction Chris mentioned I would be careful to check the threads and the depth of the normal zerk fitting before installing it. I believe they are the same as I have switched them in a few idler arms and king pin caps.

Yup. I forgot about that..

I have also used it to push out a pilot bearing with the help of a wood dowel that I drilled through end to end. It was pretty simple. I cut down a piece of maple dowel to about 2.5 inches. Drilled a hole through it end to end. Put a piece of hard wire through it to allow it to spin on and brought it down to size with an electric belt sander. Then I cut a little slot in one end and inserted it into the bearing. With the clearance pretty tight it was easy to hold the grease gun up with one hand and slam on the grease trigger with the other. Out it came...

Maybe we should have a tricks and tips area...  :scratchchin:

Thanks for the input guys, I will go with the normal fitting.
Hopefully there isnt such a difference between the inches vs metric threads on a fitting like that. It is always though finding  tools, bolts, nuts ect. in inches up here.....

Steve P.

MOST parts stores carry both fittings. Shouldn't be a big problem..
