I was planning on using the Melling High Volume oil pump thinking it was a upgrade over the standard pump.  Now I read over on Moparts that one person said to save the pressure spring out of the old pump and use in the new one to reduce the pressure.  He said from 125 to 80 psi.  Another person said you had better be using a large capacity oil pan or the high volume pump might suck the oil pan dry.  I was planning on using the 6 qt Mopar pan on my 440 build.  Could someone give me an education on oil pumps for 440's and what you should and should not do concerning their use.  I have not changed the oil pickup tube from it's stock diameter.  If I need to shelve the hv pump and get a std one then so be it.
