Does the AMD piece have the lip on it that gets welded to the tailpanel?  It's hard to tell from the pics.  Thanks  This would be for a 68

Hemidog

From the looks of it, it has the same downward lip that the two-piece has....

Thanks, the two piece sections from Sherman's don't have a lip on the back.  I thought that lip came upwards but it has been over a year since I tore my trunk out.

You're right, there was no lip on the shermans piece, forgot about that.
I also think you're right about the lip going upwards on the original, think that was the case on my car aswell.

YES, the lip is supposed to go upwards.
Isn't that a shot of a Coronet?? Maybe Coronets had the lip facing downwards?  :shruggy:

Good point, I am going to stop by the all Mopar show at the Roseville Chrysler dealer up here in the Detroit area tomorrow.  They are a distributor for AMD so hopefully they will have all there stuff out on display.  I will take some pics

I'm going to check the show out as well.

Yes there is definitely a lip that goes upwards which gets welded to the tailpanel. Otherwise there will be a gap which I've seen just filled in with dum dum/sealer on other cars I've seen  ::)

My shop fabricated the lip to complete the trunk pan. I don't know if the AMD full pans have the lip or not but all the others don't seem to have it.

Yes, the AMD reproduction definately has the upward lip in the back to fill in the gap on the tail panel. I bought a full pan but havn't used it yet. Very nice piece.  I believe Coronets use an up ward lip but Plymouths use a downward lip from the factory.

Great photo...I have a buddy restoring his 68 and he went with the one piece trunkpan also !

Here's a pic of the AMD trunk pan showing the upward lip.

Yeah, the AMD trunk has the correct body plug and gas filler holes precut as well. The Shermans panels do not.  At least they didn't when I bought mine a while back.    :shruggy:   Ted
