A post dealing with the subject of capturing and posting Photos.

common complaints are pretty easily handeled by a few guidlines we might share here, So I'll start with a few things I've learned.

1. Take Lots of Photographs:.
Professional photographers often take hundreds of photos or at least a few dozen to get the perfect shot, todays digital camaras with a 2 GB (Gigabite) memory card can provide 800 or more photographs when set to a normal resolution standard.

2. Practice:.
Take some time to learn the limitations of your camara and/or cell phone. find something of intrest to you for example your own car, guitar or beer can collection and get to clicking. you can allways delete poor photos in the reviewing proccess.

3. Fill the Frame with the object:
Center the subject with a small margin on either side. I often find i have to advance or retreat a step or two to take advantage of the avail. space.
  some problems are...
  A.  bright light might wash out your viewfinder or screen making an accurate centering hard to discern, in which case several photos centered as best you can manage very well might manage to provide the perfect shot. When the sun compleatly washes out your vision (as often happens at midday at an outdoor show) backing off a bit to increase the picture filed and margin around the object will solve unintended cropping.
B. too tight spacing between the objects - say at a show where cars are within a few feet of one another or the crowds are thick - much more diliberation may be required. Close in shots of details, shots down the side with the camera held vertically or even at a radical angle might make a impossible conventual shot into a creative abstract shot.

to be continued...
thanks for your help.

for posting pics on this site, a helpful hint is to download a free photo working program, Serif PhotoPlus 6.0 works great, you can greatly alter the file size for getting your pic under the 200KB limit without changing size or quality, as well as the usuals such as cropping, adding text, painting or pasting other pics or arrows or whatever.  You can alter the lighting and contrast and hues, etc.

my digital camera loads the pics right into the program, where you can have as many sub files etc. you want to organize them, and name them when downloading,  not near as complicated to learn as photoshop and is free and has a table of contents and intruction guide with search etc.  it does a lot more things, basics described here.  fun to use,  photoshops, lol,    :Twocents:

here is a link to the free download:  the 6.0 is free, they hope you will like it and buy the 8.0, no catch, I have had this for years, downloaded it again when I reformatted my computer couple years ago, you have to register, but all they do is basically send you a promo in your email about once a month, no catch, they don't give or sell your email to anyone,

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

I'll agree Bull, the key is taking a lot of pictures. When I hit a show ground to take pictures of an event, I typically carry 9 memory cards on me, and typically I fill them up before I leave. I on average shoot about 1,200+ pictures per show. Then when I get home I can pick through and find the good ones to resize and post.

I realy need to get me a digital camera and start posting some pics, but I am just reluctant to evolve into new technology :shruggy:

 Beware of shoddy camaras,.. :RantExplode:
the Casio Exilim z-60 Camara I bought just two years ago bears little relation to the Camaras they are currenty marketing, i tried to buy another and now they are junk with several less features and made out of colored plastic, it's higher pixel count means nothing, make sure you research and actually handel the camara to see if it's tight and tightly built. some of these crappy new camaras actually rattle. I wish i had bought two of this Casio when i was able...
I'd also suggest a $3-400 dollor budget.

and for posting pics to this site,..
here's some helpful info,..

no film to get developed is nice part,  take as many pics as you want, erase ones you don't like,
I would recommend as well as what broc said, get one that has built in rechargable battery, otherwise these things can burn through the batteries, and you never know when the batteries will go out, so you have to carry batteries around with you,   my old one ditital could burn through a pair of AA's in forty pics, don't know why,
my new camera has a battery plugs into wall, green light goes off when done, last for thousands of pictures, hasn't run out yet on any pic venture, when I get home I can charge it, usually I don't ever have to charge it, it lasts so long,  even when using flash a lot, memory card holds thousand pics maybe, and all the things you can do with the pics when you download them into a basic computer photo program,
money wise, all you save on film developing and time you have to wait to drop them off, get them back, etc., made photography a lot more fun hobby, and once you buy a cheap digital, cost is minimal to nothing,
