Everyone,

My eight year old daughter wants one. My wife wants the fitness program. Not knowing anything about this system, and having obtained all my knowledge from those inane tv commercials, what say you? Thanks!  :2thumbs:

Wiis are a lot of fun. And, you can wirelessly connect to the internet to get updates and play online. Up to 4 people can play most games, but the console only comes packaged with 1 controller and nunchuk. When you buy your Wii, make sure to get a second controller and nunchuk. There's a platform that goes along with the fitness program. You stand on it when exercising.  ;D

The Wii Fitness program is FANTASTIC!!!!  :2thumbs: it is so smart. It analyzes your body height, weight, BMI, everything. As you play you unlock different games that are great! Bowling, downhill slolom skiing, boxing, golf, yoga, running, plus tons more! We're gonna get one for the family too! I figure if kids are gonna play video games, they might as well get exercise at the same time! Kids LOVE IT!!!! :Twocents:

I got the Wii system last Christmas....I got it from Target online but had to buy the "package deal" (which was over $550) to get the system....games, 4 controllers, nunchucks etc.....at the time you couldn't find them anywhere!
My girls 10 & 13 love it as well as I.  Guitar Hero is my favorite.
we have the Wii Fit as well & my wife & I use it.  Its good to get a bit of cardio in your daily life.  We've unlocked everything so far so its getting a little boring....
We are also getting the new disc they have out Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009 hopefully it will "spice it up"

I like the Wii Sports package. Golf, Baseball, Boxing, Tennis, and Bowling. The bowling and tennis are great! You have to get MarioKart too. My wife bought one for herself, since I was/am always on the PS2, PS3, and my PSP. But, I play when she's not home!!  :icon_smile_big:

The Nunchaku serve what purpose? Please educate me.  The fitness program sounds like a step in the right direction IMO. :2thumbs:
I'd be all over the bowling dealio. :yesnod:
Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Wii systems are a bargain in the U.S. I saw one for sale in Islamabad for over $600 and the last time I went through Dubai Airport the Duty Free shop was charging about $500 for the basic system.

You use the nunchuck for games like boxing.   You hold the nunchuck in your hand as you punch.

We, or should I say our daughter has one.  She's 7 and enjoys the heck out of the My Sims games.  We got the Wii sport game with it.  The wife and I can NOT beat her in bowling.  We're all sore every time we play one of the sport games so I can only imagine what the Fitness game does.

My biggest problem was actually buying the console.  After a couple weeks of searching I went to *cough, cough* WalMart, showed up at 11:30 PM cause the next day's ad was coming out at midnight and legally they had to sell some.  So I was 5th in line and they sold 5.

Thanks for all the replies. I picked up the console yeaterday at Costco (pretty good price also). Now to get the additional controller and nunchuk.... :2thumbs:
