I have what i think is my "Lamp on Buzzer" for my 69 Charger SE. It has a P/N of 2983332. First, can anyone tell me if that part should be on a 69 charger and second, can this buzzer be tested?

I do have an ohm meter. I've opened it up and cleaned the contacts but dont know how to test.

Maybe check to see if i has any resistance? There should be some but I don't know how much.

Is either of the three posts labeled 12 volts? If it is then hook 12 volts to it and negative to the case. Then ohm out the remaining 2 posts. They will most likely close with power applied.

Unforunately no stampings to indicate the voltage anywhere on the thing.

Yes the lamp on buzzer is just that.....the thing buzzes when you leave either your parking or headlights on after you turn off the ign.......

As far as testing it, get out your wiring diag (you have one dont you??? ;) )and trace the wires.....I think one is ground, one would be 12v+ and the other should be a signal from the headlight switch.

I would look for you but Im not at home right now......

Yep, I have a wiring diagram Chris...  :yesnod:

If we have a ground and +12 I can test for the voltage and for the ground continuity but how do you actually test the relay itself????

Thanks for any ideas.

sorry... a horn RELAY LOL... on B bodies are plugged on to the fuse box, But A bodies and maybe some more are with that wind of L bracket to bolt on to the kick area walls. Relay is the same, difference is just the bracket.

71-73 are similar with a vertical prong added what is the key buzzer function... that's why I crossed words LOL

to actually test it add 12V on the correct peg, ground to something, and send a signal through the last peg...    the thing should buzz...    when i get home i'll look at a diagram if you haven't gotten it by then and go more in depth.
