I want to buy a valve spring changer set up for heads on the block application. Anyone using a set up out there that they are very happy with?

Buy one of them cheap $20 sets and you'll be stomping & cursing for hours  :nana:   OK for light duty springs, but that's about it. Don't take the cheap way out, stick with the solid experienced advice given to you by Ron. If your just going to use it for one job, that's OK too... just use it, then sell it. Myself, I would hold on to it however... you never know what tomorrow will bring.

How do these work exactly? What are the mechanics that keep the valve from dropping when you use this tool?

Any clearance issues with the Master Cylinder with those tools?

Mike, the tool pivots on the shaft and you depress the spring by pulling on the handle. You must use compressed air in the cylinder to keep the valves from dropping into the hole....it doesn't take much psi to hold them up.
