I'm replacing my three wire alternator on my 68 Charger with an aftermarket one wire one.  Do I still need to use my two wire resistor?  What is this resistors purpose anyway? Thanks

Resistor is for the ignition coil, not the alternator....

you do need your resistor = you however do not need your voltage regulator
