Last night as things were winding down @ work, (the San Francisco Chronicle Newspaper), a guy called the metro Desk, He was rational but really excited...  :oSays he's seeing a dozen "Organic" lights in the sky over the bay, says they are NOT airplanes and he's not making this up!
Well people I gotta tell ya' I get plenty of crank calls every week, like a couple days ago a guy in Chico claimed "CIA Cars of various manufacture are zapping my home with particle beam weapons"... and the like, So,..  I try to be polite and hear them out and suggest they seek "Help" elsewhere,.. The litmus test for these calls is how many people call,.. If one person calls in claiming aliens are invading I don't get concerned but when the phones suddenly all light up, credibility grows in direct proporton to the number of calls...
But this single call  from a guy who lives on one of the higher hills in the city, and used to work for the paper, (though I didn't know him) convinces me he actually IS seeing mysterious lights in the sky,.. inspite of being the only caller, so, I alert the City Editor, who passes him finally to a reporter, who calls Vandenburg Air Force Base, who conferms that indeed reports of lights in the sky,.. We sent a photoeditor out to the callers home to inteview him and try to see the lights and possibly photograph them...
It was too late to do anything for today's paper, but our on-line publication SFGATE.com did manage to get this small blurb in...
I stopped off last night on the way home at a park on a hill that over-looks the entire Bay Area where you can see 80 miles in any direction,..
and it was a chilly clear night after a few days of light rain,.. but all I saw were dozens of Airliners approching and departing SFO.....

OK, you can post your odd pics of your tinfoil helmet here oldparts...

Nah probably just swampgas...or SF rocks gas...absorbing the light of Venus ! .... or a reflection of a weatherballoon that....aww heck, let's just call it aliens, much easier to explain, people should be used to the little grey dudes by now anyway  :icon_smile_big:

Strat do you remember from a few years back that bright lights, on a clear blue day were seen swerving around the Golden Gate ? I never followed it up and don't know if anyone ever gave an explanation. I saw the pics and even some videos of it and whatever those flying things are, I want one ! Dang do they corner or what.

RD

did you contact NASA to see if there was any unusual solar flare activity yesterday?   just looks like a mass of energized particles caused by the heat of the city in relation to the cooler upper atmosphere being combined with the pollution of the city and interacting with upper level radiation emitted from the sun.   or a small version of the aurora borealis. :D

plus if you look at the photos, the camera is in motion with a low shutter speed making the light object look larger than what it really is.

wow,.. I didn't realize Lance actually got photos!..   :o that second one looks like an illuminated SR-71...
well,.. I expect more to develop since the A.F.confermed multiple sightings from here to Las Vegas...
BTW: I asked my buddy on the SFPD to check with Dispatch to see if anyone called in...
the caller told me they moved organically at various speeds and rates of climb and decent, I wanna see these things for myself..   ;)

Yeah I was cleaning the bathroom with my own special chlorine bleach and ammonia cocktail   :icon_smile_dead: and went out on the deck for some air and for some wierd reason I started seeing some funny lights in the sky and feeling a weird "pulse" in the air around the house. I then ran into the house and put my tinfoil hat on so as to block their mind control scanning rays. When I went back outside they had written in the sky with their particle beam "Drive to Chico, drive to Chico..." So I got in the truck and drove an hour North. Right when I pulled into town I saw this glowing green phone booth and I figured it was a sign of some sort and got the sudden urge to pull over and make a phone call. Funny thing is, I was just dialing random numbers....I didn't even know that was you Strat.   :image_294343:

Hey Strat,

When I was at the Cow Palace the other night, I was watching the planes line up for SFO. You live in a great City, Bro. Back in the day when I used to haul around bands, I camped out in my Rig on 7th st [??] right beside the Warfield Theatre, across from the Golden Gate Theatre. Ah, those were the days.

Next time I'm in town, we'll hit Chinatown or the Pier and Pillage the city and embarrass our old Ladies! :2thumbs:

O.K. so now the "experts" are saying they were planets... Well, the guy I talked to said there were a dozen lights moving "organically" out over the bay,..
So now they're planets,.. you'd think folks from all over the place would mistake the two planets for UFOs, not just some folks between San Francisco and Vegas... and it would happen night after night as the planets tend to re-appear in pretty much the same place.
Another coverup perpetuated on the masses?.. Yawn... sigh,..

My first job was at the Fox-Warfield theater in 1972, it had been freshly remodeled to it's original splendid Art Deco style, Awesome theater, truly Grand with a capital G.
Now in those days movies played for Months if they were popular as the VCR hadn't been invented yet, I saw The Godfather, Superfly, and Enter the Dragon dozens if not hundreds of times...
Ticket-taker, Candy-counter and Usher (remember those?) i did it all,.. had to wear a uniform with a clip on bow tie...
I seem to remember i made $2.65 an hour, and saw some remarkable things,.. like a lady in a brand new powder Blue 'n white '73 cougar XR-7 who pulled up in front in the No Parking zone, open her door which was promptly ripped off by a MUNI bus,.. she went hysterical, absolutely Berserk,..   :P
'nother time a dude chased his new bride across the street and emptied his Police Special into her, not 30 feet from me!,.. they had just got married the day before... :o

I also worked next-door at the Crest, a smaller movie theater, with a small seedy room behind the movie screen, where you could look out unseen upon the audience, there was a couch in there where the employees would take their dates...   ;) i used to get in for free there for years afterward... now's it's a porn palace, the Crazyhorse,..
In the '80s the Warfield was "modernized" on the cheap... and everything was painted over in purple and flat black, which is to say they ruined it..

The theater was taken over by BGP (Bill Graham Productions) for live shows, for which the theater was originally intended,.. I've seen a great many shows there, the best of which was Thin Lizzie's Chinatown tour... one of the best shows I've ever seen period, and I've seen a few. Another memorable show I   saw there was Rage Against the Machine, Tool and Helmet... all on the same bill!   :yesnod:
I also saw Al Dimiola, Paco Di Lucia and John McLaughlin in a show that came out on vinyl... called "Saturday Night In San Francisco"
I can hear my bud Bill Burnbaum, now deceased hollering and whistling at John, his idol,   and it always makes me sad...   :engel016:

Yea, The old Warfield has quite a history.

In the past fifteen years, I've had the privledge of touring with quite a few bands. BB King, Jimmy Vaughn, Tower of Power, Green Day , Toad the Wet Sproket, Goo Goo Dolls, Kraftwork[??], Erasure, Anita Baker, Creed, Blink 182, Brian Setzer, etc..........

Well, you get the Idea.

BTW, God Bless Bill Graham

Hey Strat,

Vandenberg is a long way from SF.  Did you check with Travis too?

How come no one has capitalized on this tin foil hat thing yet? I mean don't you think there's a market for it? Just think, you could mass-produce aluminum helmets for the "fool and his money are quickly parted" crowd at something like $200 a pop. Get some 16-gauge aluminum and one of those fender-benders like on Orange County Choppers and start making helmets to sell to UFO freaks on Ebay. Maybe etch a bunch of anti-alien symbols all over it (if there is such a thing), put a nice comfy liner inside it and a chin strap... You'd be rolling it the dough in no time.

I'd like to see this guy in a lightning storm.
