If it's a 69, yes.  If it is a 68 they could be a match for the SO number.  And not the complete vin either, you should only find the last six in there.

Shipping Order number.  It was used more in plant I think than anything else.

what is a s.o. #

It is a unique tracking number assigned to a particular car. It's found on the broadcast sheet, window sticker, IBM cards and fender tag of pre 69 cars. What the Shipping Order number actually indicated and the format changed through the years. (While the function is basically the same for 69 and later, the name changed to Vehicle Order Number).

The SO number is stamped on the body and helps tie all paper documents and fender tag to a specific body. The format and placement of the body stampings varies by year and model.
Seeking information on '69 St. Louis plant VINs, SPDs and VONs. Buld sheets and tag pictures appreciated. Over 3,000 on file thanks to people like you.

I have a 68, can you post a picture of where I could find the numbers?

Thanks,

Look on the left side about 1/3 of the way up and it will be under the weatherstripping.

Dodge Don

If it is a 70 it will also match up to the section of the VIN.
