Whats you thoughts on ratchet shifters?

The 66 Fury I'm getting has a ratchet shifter in it. I haven't driven it so I don't have any real experience with it. Just been reading things online. Seems like it might be pretty fun to drive. Anyone have one in their car?

 I have a new B&M Pro Ratchet in my 74' 440.  Manual automatic tranny - New build with 450hp, only have 500 miles on it but....it is a blast, spins everytime I hit it with the RPM's up.....I added a bulb/socket to it so I can see it at night.  Good luck
