Windows Media Player Encoder Helper Problem?

Randomly (sometimes twice a day, other times nothing for a day or two) I'll randomly get a pop up saying:

"windows media player encoder helper has stopped working"
Close and check online solution later
Close Progam

This has happened whether Windows Media Player was open or not. No matter what I choose, it doesn't close Windows Media Player 11. I have searched online and there aren't very many topics that even come close to helping. One said to download a WMP Encoder patch yet when I did that, the patch said I dont have WMP Encoder installed (since it is only for WMP9 and Windows XP).

Wondering if someone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it.  :shruggy:

I run windows update twice a day, once in the morning, once before I go to bed. I don't use Media Encoder 9, hell it's not even on my computer unless it's hidden!  :shruggy:

It shouldn't be hidden, it is a free download, but I believe you have to download it...     time to "Format C"?
